Sensitive bump syndrome?

OK - I made that up, I have no idea whether it exists but if it does I have it.

I am nearly 23 wks and ever since very early on in pregnancy I haven't been able to stand anything pressing on my abdomen at all. Mostly it just makes me feel very sick, but increasingly it is giving me chronic indigestion so that I can hardly straighten up or even making me feel faint. Every time I have one of these "attacks" if I just take off everything I'm wearing that presses on my stomach I'm immediately fine again, but unfortunately I work full-time so going about naked isn't really an option.

So far I have resisted buying any over the bump trousers because I can't cope with the elastic pressing on my stomach, but now I"m getting bigger my under-the-bump ones are getting tight when I sit down and digging in which is just as bad (though when I stand up they still fall down). I bought a bump band to hold them in place but even though it didn't seem tight and still had lots of stretch in it, that had the same effect and I gave up after a few days. I'm also really struggling with bras. I was a 36D before so now a 38 DD-E. Consequently anything vaguely supportive without underwiring has enough elastic round it to launch things into space. Most of the time when I'm not at work I'm just going without, but that's not especially comfy either.

Has anyone else had this and what on earth can I do?

When i first found out i was pregnant it didt bother me too much. but as soon as i started getting a bump it made me feel abit queezey when anyhting touched it and didnt want to lie in any other position to sleep than on my back (which is now impossible as id end up fainting because of the pressure) lol

i bought a pair of over the bump trousers and they bothered me at first but i got used to them. try getting the ones that go right over your bump to under your bust line the ones that stop about half way up never really felt very comfortable.

i began getting tenderness around my belly button area at about 21 weeks and couldnt bare to have anyhting touch my bump went to see various MW and to my gp MW but they couldnt find anyhting the tenderness turned to paain so i went to A&E turns out i have a hernia behind my belly button.. ouch, theres nothing they can do about it but its put my mind at rest abit, im 32 weeks now and im that used to being pregnant i dont even reolise theres a bump anymore try not to worry things lightly touching your bump wont hurt your baby in any way

one thing i still cant stand is when the MW presses down on your bump to check fundal height its horrible xxxxxxxxx

Thanks, but I don't think mine is quite the same. Pressing on my stomach a little bit doesn't bother me and there's no tenderness, it has to be consistent pressure for more than a few minutes. However I did throw up during my 20 week ultrasounds because of the pressing.

I really can't stand anything pressing under the bust line either which is why I'm having trouble with bras: I'm beginning to thing dungarees are my only hope!

I kinda get how you're feeling. I couldn't bear the tight feeling of a bra strap around me either so have bought a sleep bra from Mothercare which you can also wear during the day and it's so soft and stretchy and comfy, it's great. I highly recommend it.

I've also got to the stage where I can't wear clothes! At home I live in my PJs and reluctantly put proper clothes on only when I have to go out, but they dig into me and feel awful.

Also have a tender/sensitive bump, but this is because of surgery I had just over a year ago and scars have not healed properly yet and are now being stretched. It's so sore to rub stretch mark cream on it, I hate when others feel at liberty to pat my belly and the ultrasound scans really hurt it.

Sorry I don't have any cures for you except the bra advice, but you have my sympathies!
