OK how do I keep my just ECV turned breech baby head down until induction time tomorrow?

Hi

Am currently 40+11 with DC3.

She was discovered to be breech at 36 weeks, cue lots of talk of having a section or possible ecv, but was told ecv not an option as there were no consultants with enough experience around to do it.

Anyway, she turned by herself at 39 weeks the day before I went in to discuss the section!

Went in this morning for monitoring with a view to possible induction tomorrow morning and found she was breech again, having disengaged from 2/5 when a sweep was done on Sunday.

There was a Senior Consultant on the ward who was experienced in ECV this morning and he was willing to give it a go. Was painful but she turned on the first attempt.

Labour ward was packed to the rafters and as I was booked in tomorrow anyway they said I could go home. (Eternally grateful for this as we were running late and not terribly organised this morning.)

Thing is I am now paranoid that she will turn again and I will end up with a section. Have been sitting bolt upright since leaving the hospital at 1.45, but can't possibly keep it up all night, am totally exhausted and really sore after this morning.

Anybody got any suggestions as to how I can encourage her to stay put while I get some rest. Thought maybe sleeping as upright as possible on the sofa with loads of cushions behind me, but not sure if that will work.

Can feel hard lump just below tummy button at the moment and am wondering if I'm too late already.

How on earth is she managing to turn around at nearly 42 weeks without me feeling it?

I'm not sure what the best thing to do is but have you had a look at the spinning babies website?

www.spinningbabies.com/

They might have some tips.

Good luck - hope all goes well tomorrow

Thanks elibumbum. Have looked at spinning babies as that's the site that helped me turn her the first time, but most of the stay put stuff seems more to do with posterior than breech.

To be honest I suppose I was clutching at straws, she is so mobile if she wants to turn she's probably just going to turn no matter what I do.

Think I will just have to try sleeping well supported on my left side and hope for the best. (Have tried to get comfy propped upright on the sofa but its killing my spd and there's no way I'd sleep - couldn't face labour tomorrow with no sleep.)
