Not sure if this is the right place but would really be grateful for advice on which mattress to buy - and where is a good place to get one from?

we got ours from mamas and papas a breathe safe mattress which was fantastic and not overly expensive

tesco do a sprung one for 50 quid.
kids WRECK mattresses, either but wetting the bed, spilling drinks, or jumping on them.
id say get this one cos its cheap to replace, yet its sprung so better than a cheaper on thats just foam.

surely if you use a protector they dont get so ruined? I hope so anyway

Get one that has a zip-off-able cover which is waterproof on one side and breathable on the other. You can turn it over when they are dry at night.

mine has a protector, we got thru 2 decent ones before i gave up.
maybe my kids are more destructive than most!

hi there is a good selection at babaies rus, we just got one for around £70

EachPeachPearMum · 12/01/2009 17:04

Our is a mothercare sprung one with the zip-off bit that washes and dries really well.
It has been an excellent mattress so far (DD 2.11)

Sprung mattresses are much better than foam. Mamas and Papas are supposed to be very good and they have a sale at the moment. There is a cot bed mattress reduced from £120 to £80. [www.mamasandpapas.co.uk]]

For a cotbed mattress, it is best to get a sprung rather than foam one as you will be using it for quite a long time. Cx

We got a vibrating one from babies r us which has 2 different settings....
voice activated which will go off when baby cries for up to 8 hours,
or one that u set to vibrate constantly for either 5 or 10 minutes.
Think its also got cover that you can change to wash but not sure.
Its excellent, only used the vibrate for the first few months of buying it but dd has always slept right through and its always there if she does have a bad night.
