Multiple very faint positive tests not getting any darker - confused and getting a bit concerned - any ideas?

Just a bit of background first - I posted here about 3 weeks ago worrying I was pregnant - had just got a very very faint positive. Since then I have done numerous tests (and I mean loads!)including 3 different makes of cheap ebay ones, first response and clear blue.

All come up with a VERY VERY faint line within the time limit - some immediately, others take a bit longer. The line is extremely faint but the right thickness and colour. After the alloted time they turn into fantastic evap lines - see them a mile off type lines (but after the time limit has passed - yes i know i should throw them away lol).

The problem is they are not getting any darker. I have done one CB digital and it said not pregnant although this was at least 10 days ago.

I am not ttc - would not be good timing as DD is only 4 months old! I should not be pregnant - am exclusively breastfeeding. We have been using condoms but have been a bit lax with when they go on so to speak occasionally. I only started testing as I did not feel right - tired, sick, have been physuically sick in the morning a couple of times (i have had hypermesis twice and am always sick from day 1).

I dont think I am pregnant as the line isnt getting any darker but am worried there may be something wrong. Do you think the tests are just getting so sensitive now they could be picking up the very low level of hcg many women have? Could I have some residual hcg from pregnancy (i have very high hcg levels when pregnant). Is there just always "something" there on the test and I am looking too closely?

Any ideas? Thanks xxxxx

I would go to the doctors and get a blood test to make sure one way or another. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

I think you should go to the doctor, no question.
The tests don't show residual hcg, especially not the First response or clear blue digital ones that are less sensitive. And you wouldn't still have hcg in your urine after 4 months post partum. Either you are pregnant and all is well, in which case you will need to register with midwife etc. or if not then you should ask the doctor about it.
