When does needing to pee in the night start in early pregnancy?

I seem to remember having to get up in the night to pee at least once during previous pgs - around the 6wk mark. But I haven't really had to get up to pee at night with this pg (I'm 6.5wks) and I was wondering if anyone else is the same? Thanks!

I'm 12 weeks and have only just started needing the loo abit more than usual. Not so much during the day, but I never normally wake during the night to go to the toilet and only for the past week or so I have been.

I'm 18 weeks and still sleeping through without needing to get up to pee.

Night visits to toilet at 6 weeks sounds psychological, to be honest.

I never need the loo more then normal with any of my pregnancies in the early stages, only when I got very big at the end.

Hormones can make you need the loo more, but not always.

Mine started immediately even before I knew I was pg and has just eased off at 16 weeks.

Thanks for your replies...I guess every pg is different. I recall having to pass large quantities of nocturnal wee during pg #2 - not something I am missing as I'd much rather stay in bed asleep than get up!

I'm 7 weeks and up at least 3 times a night. Was al least once a night before I got pregnant.

Gosh haven't 'slept through' for years!

Some people's bladders seem to be more sensitive to the hormones which trigger frequent toilet trips in early pregnancy. Try not to worry

Congrats

I wish I didn't have to! I'm up between 4 and 6am, and can't get back to sleep, total pain. Not got a bedside lamp on my side of the bed so I can't even read. It's when I feel most sick as well, so I'm miserable about it!

Unsurprisingly, OH not interested in conversation, getting me a drink or even a bit of the other at that hour!!!

MustHaveaVeryShortMemory · 29/12/2008 19:46

For me it started before my missed period (both times) so I think it is hormonal rather than the size of the baby or anything. Two massive wees every night are definitely not psychological. Just because I don't have morning sickness doesn't mean I think you must be imagining yours....

chandellina · 29/12/2008 20:15

i never really needed extra pees in my pregnancy - maybe got up once or twice a night at most but i always had gotten up once anyway.

highrise · 29/12/2008 20:42

Psychological...my brother told me the other day that morning sickness is psychological.
Obviously he's never suffered from it, and I guess like some he probably hasn't had the pleasure of sleep being interrupted by the desperate need to pee.....

I'm currently 14 weeks and for the last 2 weeks, have to get up very early in the am (4-5am) to go pee then can't get back to sleep. I'm usually a sleep through the night kind of person so this has been a bit of a surprise.
Hopefully it is temporary situation.

Like someone else said every pg is different!

xxhunnyxx · 29/12/2008 22:36

I'm 13 weeks pregnant and not got up to wee in the night once.
Once I'm asleep I'm out for the night...or at least till 4.30/5am for the first 12 weeks!

xxhunnyxx · 29/12/2008 22:44

highrise tell your brother he doesn't know what he's talking about! lol.
How does your brother explain me having morning sickness before I knew I was pg if it's 'psychological'??? (we thought we'd missed the egg that month).
I've even heard men say that period pains are psychological!!! BLOODY MEN!!! ha ha ha x
Highrise is it defo your bladder waking u up so early? I wake up really early but it's just my hormones or often my insane dreams (caused by hormones) that wake me up.
It's so frustrating, it's bad enough that we're gonna get sleepless nights once our babies arrive, we don't need an extra 9 months of sleepless pregnant nights too!

highrise · 30/12/2008 14:38

ha ha..I've always suspected my brother talked a load of rubbish now it's confirmed!

My waking early is definitely a desperate need to pee. Had mad dreams initially which have calmed down considerably.

Hopefully all the symptoms will be worth it when baby comes along

Good luck!

xxhunnyxx · 31/12/2008 11:11

Yeah my mad dreams have settled down a bit now, they were horrible at first, I kept dreaming about losing the baby etc, it was awful.
Yeah it will all be worth it when we finally hold our little bambinos

Hawkmoth · 31/12/2008 13:01

I keep dreaming about going to the loo! I'm now paranoid about wetting the bed. Bloody hormones!

lastboxoftampons · 31/12/2008 13:47

I'll be 11 weeks on Friday and for the past 2-3 weeks or so, I sometimes need to go in the middle of the night. It's not all the time, but it's pretty unusual for me, I would never have gotten up in the middle of the night to go before.
