Um...strange cravings anyone?
For all of my pregnancies i have totally and utterly wanted to eat talcum powder..although have never been brave/stupid enough.. so substituted it with that sherbert in a yellow tube with the liquorice in
And...loo roll... sitting there chewing it. Eek.
Plus i worked on the roads through the summer and could not get enough of the smell of tar. And diesel smell.. don't get me started! Lol

With DTs I used to have a pint of strawberry milkshake (full fat milk) with a big blob of lemon sorbet in the top. Also went mad for ketchup. Used to go to Maccy d's and order a cheepo burger, chuck the meat out and fill the bun with ketchup.

Couldn't get enough of......

The smell of creosote.

Wrights Coal Tar Soap (kept a bar handy for sniffing purposes) though don't wash your hair in it like I did...it's terrible.

The smell of my new Dyson cleaner while it was running.

Brushes...not the smell, just the brushiness of them. Started lurking around the local ironmongers because he had stiff bristled brushes hanging outside.

Washing up sponges...loved the texture. Bought masses of them from Wilkinson's which was handy because Wilkinson's smelled of creosote!!

Reading these makes my mouth water!!

I have a thing for marmite on crackerbreads (no matter how full up I am!).

But the weirdo one is damp bath sponges (damp smells in genreral - I just want to consume them!!) Leave wet sponges in the shower until they smell damp and them sniff one whilst chewing one!!! - LUSH!

Fantastic!
I thought I was the only one in the world who likes getting dizzy on the smell of damp flannel!
28 weeks preg and I have to get a daily fix of

  1. Damp flannel (or damp washing)
  2. Johnson's baby shampoo
  3. L'occitane Relaxing Foam Bath

yes it's THAT specific. (all should be inhaled deeply til the smell is lodged in your sinuses..)
Now does anyone have a scientific reason why??!
