I have really bad morning sickness which I'm sure this is related to but I have the most awful taste in my mouth ALL the time. It is now beginning to really get me down.

Has anyone else had this and found anything that provides any kind of relief from it?

I've not found anything to get rid of it sadly. It's not there when I eat, but I can't eat all the time. Bicarb was probably the closest. I'm now 32 weeks and I don't notice it quite as much, think I've just got used to it. It is a vile symptom though.

in my first pregnancy I had a metalic taste now 18 weeks into second have had metalic taste which lemon sweets/lemonade worked for now have a taste right at back of mouth rottern a bit metalic as well its absolutley vile and is really getting me down I have tried loads of flavours to get rid of it mint, lemon, orange juice, citrus, boiled sweets nothing seems to work will try the bicarb of soda and maybe tonic water (although I dont like it)

The metallic taste was one of my first symptoms- fizzy boiled sweets like sherbet lemons were good. And sour jelly sweets like haribo type things. Horrid symptom.

I found fruity jelly sweets (mainly Haribo fangtactics) and fruit ice lollies worked for me. It did go at about 20 weeks ish, but now at 35 weeks it's back. I'm just trying to stay away from the sweets.

This is a bit leftfield, but second leftwingharpie's call re gaviscon (liquid not tablets). Sometimes these horrid tastes can be caused by acid washing back up the pipe think it's called water brash. When I get nasty taste in mouth I know now to take some gaviscon to avoid later vomit episode (took me ages to make the link, doh).

That and fruity sweets when out on the go. Damn whoever said starburst - am now craving them...

I also went for strong flavoured sweets -- sherbet lemons, extra strong mints and Love Hearts. I think it just feels like a relief to be able to overpower the disgusting taste for a bit.

I'm suffering HG at the moment and often have that revolting taste. Best thing I have found is R Whites Lemonade Ice Lollies - really strong lemony taste plus cold and refreshing!

Eeerghh I thought it was just me that taste is horrendous I tried everything it's put me off all sorts of food and unfortunately water as well. Gargle with water and baking soda helps for like 10 mins...

Ooh yeah that's the worst. I drank a lot of peppermint tea and did saltwater rinse/gargles!
