Early Pregancy Cramps - Was on Clomid

Ok ladies, im looking advice again, only just found out about a week ago im pregnant, done 2 tests on different days to confirm; the pregnancy is down to my first cycle of clomid. Any calculators ive used on the net seem to advise that im about 5 weeks although not sure about this. however this past 3 days ive had cramps in my lower stomach on and off, also and sorry to be getting personal after intercourse the other night when i wiped myself there was a light pinkish discharge. i havent had it before or since it was just that once (havent bedded since).

I have read that clomid does not increase chances of miscarriage but having trawled the net looking for success stories i have come across storis of misses many times. it has me really worried. im just wondering has any else experienced this these symptoms before? I phoned my doctor just now and he said wait for a week or so and test again and if its still pos phone him for a scan, he also said if the cramps got bad or i got blood clots ring him to get an earlier scan. bad cramps to one person might not be bad to another but there might still be a danger there so im unsure what to do. Had sharpish pains earlier now they are gone. If anyone can help me or experienced this please respond. thanks

OK, well I've never had clomid/other fertility drugs but during both pregnancies I had 'period-like' cramping for weeks 5 and 6 of pregnancy (strong enough to take paracetamol but not agony, iyswim). Was very worried the first time (thought I was going to miscarry) and did a lot of searching on the internet. This did turn up quite a few other women who'd had the same experience, although it never seemed to be listed as one of the early signs of pregnancy. Anyway pregnancies were fine so, unless you bleed or the pain gets really bad I'm sure it is just your womb starting to expand. A couple of my friends have had 'missed' miscarriages and neither of them had any cramping at all, so its not like the 2 go together particularly.

I had spotting and cramping from 4+4 to about 11 weeks. At times the cramping was quite sore, and did take paracetamol for it a few times (although this was forced on me by OH because he rightly thought I'd be calmer if I couldn't feel it.) As a guide my cramps were never as bad as but similar to period pain, which I can find pretty unbearable. The thing is that there is loads going on down there, implantation, stretching etc.

I was sent to the EPU for early scans twice as the doctors didn't like my spotting and period pain combo. I was lucky and my first trip (5+4) was enough to confirm 'viability' (eg a heart beat). I was told that it was implantation bleeding, which apparently can go on for weeks - as the embryo beds in. The blood I had was always either pink or brown, either in CM or kind of watery.

I really feel for you, it was a truly horrible time and I was absolutely convinced that I would miscarry.

Ah thanks brettgirl, thats my mind slightly at rest. Would luv 2go 4scan so i no wats goin on rather then worrying over xmas but doc wil only send me if ive very bad cramps or clots. Feel like sayin the cramps r unbearable just 2get 4a scan. At same time i dont wanna jinx meself. Wat would u's do?

Congrats on the BFP, hope all is well.

I conceived using clomid (fifth cycle + metformin + laparoscopy) and had truly awful morning sickness and bleeding, so had a few early scans. If I were you I'd request an early scan as it will do a lot to put your mind at rest, and a stressed mummy makes a stressed baby.

As brettgirl says, implantation bleeding can go on for ages, and clomid can effect your cycles, so you may not be as far gone as you think (I went for a scan at what I thought was 7 weeks, to be told that it only looked like 5 weeks and they couldn't be sure what was happening). Plus, sex in pregnancy (at any time but especially early) can result in a stained discharge, so I'm sure you needn't worry.

Hope things are better...
