Hi

Coming to you all for advice again..... I will be 26 weeks on Friday and just wondered what should be going on at the moment as there is not a lot of action. I feel kicks all day, nudges that move around slightly, some are a wee bit stronger than others, but I haven't felt anything that I would describe as 'turning'. I have no round ligament pains and no general aches and pains. I have put on about 8 kg but you couldn't really tell where. I am carrying all out front and legs, boobs, face etc have all remained the same. Is all the weight in the baby and fluid. I need to pee a bit more and I seem to be tired more and have had no Braxton Hicks contractions. When I read other's accounts of what is going on for them, mine seems very uneventful. Should there be more activity and discomfort?

blimey just be grateful!

crikey girl, just count your blessings, sounds like you are having the dream pregnancy!

I am 30 weeks and feel the size of one of those air blimps you see on old war movies, baby is defo head down, but sometimes likes to do a full body stretch which involves an instantaneous need to pee as his head hits my bladder, then I get matching heart burn as his feet dig into my stomach - LOVELY!

Last preg i had no braxton hicks, but gave birth at 28 weeks, so this time I am just grateful to get past that point.

CatIsSleepy · 16/12/2008 11:05

sorry

but there's no general rule about activity and discomfort i don't think!

personally my back gets tired easily, i get tired more easily, i can't walk fast any more...the back of my right leg is a veiny mess..keep getting a bit constipated...
but that's about it

not sure about the 'turning' thing, i just feel kicks and wriggles (lots )

CatIsSleepy · 16/12/2008 11:05

oh yes
was forgetting heartburn

Cookiemg · 16/12/2008 11:10

thanks for your advice ladies. I know that I shouldn't complain and a lot of people have a terrible time. In Feb we had a missed miscarriage diagnosed at the 12 weeks scan, I had no usual first trimester compalaints at all and everyone said...ooooh you are lucky. I am still mistrusting of my body and can't help but think that no symptoms is not a lucky sign. I am very much from the 'worse it gets the better' school of thought.

oh god the constipation - yeah, two days of no number two activity and severe bloating then baby moves and you get an extreme urge to go there and then!

not sure my bump has turned but he/she spends most of his time out to one side, making my bump very lopsided. Likes to poke his/her bum out for the world to see!

Gemzooks · 16/12/2008 11:14

I'm also 26 weeks on Friday! Your post exactly describes my preg so far as well as my previous pregnancy. I also gained 8 kg. It is all totally normal. I haven't felt it turn but then didn't in last pregnancy (am on second DC). Just feel wriggles and kicks and prods.

I am quite fit and still going to the gym (cross trainer and stretching) 3-4 times a week. I am also generally in good health, eat and sleep well etc. You sound the same, sounds like you are doing fine!

Gemzooks · 16/12/2008 11:14

oh blimey, just saw you had a missed m/c in Feb, seen at 12 weeks scan. I did too! are you me?

CatIsSleepy · 16/12/2008 11:15

am a bit lopsided too neerly...all the kicking action is on my right side, and the random sticky out head/limb type stuff...

yep the constipation has got to be one of the worst things...makes me soooooo grumpy

seriously don't worry cookie- some women really do sail through with minimal problems

i think i just like to moan alot about the problems i do have!

Neeerly3 · 16/12/2008 11:20

cookie, if you are feeling baby move up to 10 times a day (probably more), but are in no discomfort, please don't worry. Depends on your physic - you could just be more suited to pregnancy than somebody else, baby could be making your womb expand in a body friendly way (some people can get to full term and still not know they are pregs if we are to believe the SUN).

You are still in you Second Trimester which is supposed to be the 'blooming/blossoming' stage so enjoy it - soon you will lose contact with your feet, will be getting up 2/3 times a night for a pee, piles will kick in and your pelvic floor will be by your knees (bloody love it though eh!)

Cookiemg · 16/12/2008 11:37

Hey, thanks girls. Good luck to you all!

Believe it or not, I had a mmc in feb and am also 26 weeks on friday..

Gemzooks · 16/12/2008 12:24

ok so 4th July was lucky for a lot of us this year!!

doodleduck · 16/12/2008 18:01

I'd just be grateful!! Am 25 weeks and so far I don't feel much different from you, if that's any reassurance. Loads of people hadn't noticed my bump until this week. As long as you feel fine and doctors/midwives say all is OK don't get worried by others' larger bumps, niggles or pains.
I'm really thankful that so far I haven't put on that much weight and am keeping relatively healthy and mobile. The last month is likely to be (very) uncomfortable so just enjoy yourself while you can!

brettgirl2 · 16/12/2008 18:39

I've sent you my sciatica, thought it might cheer you up a bit
