Raised numbers of white blood cells - what does this mean?

I'm 36+2 and have been called back to the doctor for further blood tests - apparently my Full Blood Count is showing raised levels of white blood cells. My appointment for the further tests isn't until Tuesday, when I'll be 37 weeks.

I'm a bit worried - no idea what these means! Anyone with any experience?

Not that I could pinpoint - been feeling more tired than usual but put that down to the third trimester! DP has had a cold for 3 weeks - could be I'm fighting that off with no obvious symptoms?

urine infection?

They've been testing urine at every appointment and has shown no signs of protein - +++ for glucose though, but that's been kind of standard throughout my pregnancy (all gestational diabetes tests have been negative).

Bet you have an infection cos of lo's cold - I had this at my 27 week appt, the useless mw didn't bother to call me back, saw GP yesterday at 31 weeks and she re-did bloods and they came back ok. So my money is on an infection and they will give you something. Try not to panic and good luck with the rest of the pg!
