I am 11 weeks pregannat and my size 14 trousers are at the stage where the wont tie!!!

I have trailed round shops and havent been very successful in finding clothes!
I have ordered some bits from next and mothercare but there isnt a great selection.

Does anyone know of any good websites that sell maternity wear. I'm not keen on tight clothes would like to feel comfortable throughout my pregnancy.

Also support belts where can they be sought?

Thanks

Elle

Hi there. Congratulations.

The usual suspects are Bloomin' Marvellous, JoJoMamanBebe Formes and Isabella Oliver. All allow you to shop online.

On the high street H&M, Dorothy Perkins, Gap, Top Shop & New Look all do maternity ranges, although I think only New Look & Top Shop are available online.

M&S also have a small selection of stuff online.

I think it is a case of shopping around, as most matenrity ranges are small and some brands are better for some things and some for others.

Catilla · 01/12/2008 16:29

H&M have a good range including things which are fine for work, though only in some of their shops (I got my best haul in Exeter while visiting someone!).

If you want comfy eg. soft roll-top trousers, have a look at Isabella Oliver for the expensive end, and NCT Sales website for an alternative. Jojomamanbebe also good for online, with a few stores. IME most of the clothes from Mothercare & Blooming Marvellous weren't great quality and everything soft went bobbly & shapeless quite quickly.

I believe GAP also now do some maternity clothes, and M&S, though not sure about online.

isabella oliver, next, blooming marvellous, mamas and papas, red herring on debenhams site and surprisingly new look - have order a few things from there and very pleased for money as they are cheap. all online too and
you can send back what you don't want.

found next good for jeans and trousers.

gap and m&s also do maternity but don't find the selection that good and have had trouble ordered the right size from m and s.

h&m don't do orders online - but i must admit i don't like their clothes anyway and didn't buy anything when i went to the store.

i was desperate for a maternity coat and found one in stock with red herring debenhams site. they now have my size in an M&s maternity coat. if you need a coat my advice would be get one when you see it - really hard to get i found.

goodluck and happy shopping!

I got a couple of smock dresses (one check, one denim) + vests from Vertbaudet (online - not great quality & sizes are quite small but I like the dresses - they have buttons so I'll be able to use them when breastfeeding too) + some boring black but good maternity tights from M&S online.
It's been my uniform.

Also got a v cheap A-line/swing coat from Primark - not mat., just a few sizes bigger than normal.

GAP are supposed to do a great mat. range, esp trousers, but only in a few test branches so far - can't wait to get to one.

Good luck!

If you don't mind having a few second hand bits do a search on ebay for 'maternity bundle size 14'
I did this and received a huge box of stuff which has seen me through for everyday stuff.
With all the money I saved (got about 18 items for £120) I splashed out on a few nice bits for going out from isabella oliver and M&S (both online)
Also the next maternity leggings are super comfy and I live in them in the evenings for hanging around the house.
Next directory is actually pretty good for maternity and the stuff arives next day which is great.

KittyCat8 · 02/12/2008 10:07

I'll second Liznay on the Ebay tip... I'm currently waiting in anticipation for my four boxes of gear to arrive today!!

I paid 30 quid (excl postage) and am receiving 19 tops, 7 cardigans, 9 pairs of trousers (incl 4 lovely pairs of jeans), a maternity swimming costume, two evening dresses, a V-shaped pillow and a couple of baby-related odds and ends the lovely seller has thrown in the box for me... muslin squares, sleeper suits, vests etc.

WHAT a BARGAIN!

liznay · 02/12/2008 10:12

Kittycat that is a bargain! blimey.
I did get a coat in my box though - which I resold separately [grin}

I tell you what though, I can't wait to go shopping for 'normal' clothes after this baby is born, I need to feel sexy again!
I've asked everyone for vouchers this xmas

muppetgirl · 02/12/2008 10:12

I found Isabella Oliver's tops to be very good value. Maternity clothes aren;t cheap and neither are IO's but the way they are made meant I could wear throughout my prgcy, afterwards adn I still wear them now (am size 8, and lo is 13 months) as they fit whatever shape you are.
I bought the wrap cardi which again though expensive has lasted through prcy, I used it as a coat when ds 2 was in his sling and again, I still use it now.

I am expecting again and will buy bottom from ebay, next, blooming marvelous and I belive gap have just started a range.

muppetgirl · 02/12/2008 10:16

asos are fab! Here.

cairns · 02/12/2008 14:03

Hi I have recently found two specialist online stores that are good and reasonably good value maternity wear (both have a sale on too) and if you google the discount voucher sites they also do discount codes. Online stores are called Crave Maternity (apparently the jeans are great) and Fun Mum. Both seem to have a good returns policy if it doesn't fit too.

I am newly pregnant with DC2 so am also on the hunt for some new stuff. Ebay is also fab, although the Isabella Oliver stuff sells like hotcakes.

katie789 · 02/12/2008 15:39

Top Shop maternity is pretty fab as they just make maternity versions of all the current fashion lines.

I also bought a few well-made wrap dresses from department stores - not maternity - but I'm 30 weeks now and they still fit me.

Haven't found a winter coat yet though, and don't want to spend a fortune - any ideas?

rrrayray · 02/12/2008 16:56

i Agree with Katie about i have found Topshop maternity to be fab. unlike many stores, if you order in your pre preg size, it is actually Accurate, not massive like i've found some things to be.

I've ordered a few bits from the ASOS.com range which have also been really good, and again accurate fits.

katie789 Bellow are two really nice Black Coats.

Black Swing Coat

Blooming marvellous cape

Personally, the coat i have bought as my pregnancy one is from zara's normal Range. its a dusty/Dark pink and because its a swing jacket it buttons over my chest, and then swings out. Because it doubles over, even though i'm now 33 weeks there is still plenty of room and i'm pretty sure it'll see me the whole way through. This was £69. So definately worth checking out Zara, even though their maternity range is tiny, with the fashion at the moment you may well get away with a non maternity coat.

Good luck ladies!

katie789 · 02/12/2008 23:21

Thanks rrayray, I really like the asos one - I've never ordered anything from there, but do you find it to be good quality? I'm in the north, so that wool coat needs to be warm enough!

rrrayray · 04/12/2008 12:19

I've ordered TONNS from ASOS.com in my pre pregnancy days...and cannot fault them. They also do fantastic sales, which include some designer brands and they knock them right down.

I've ordered 2 tops and a dress from the maternity range and have been very happy with them both.

RE: the coat... Well if you need it to be especially warm, i would check the wool content. In the past i've always found, the higher the wool content, the warmer the coat!!

Good luck! xx

elle5 · 04/12/2008 15:44
