Hi Just found out I have to attend a conferance Down south (I live in NE) on 29th Jan- this makes me 33 weeks pregnant.

It will either be a nightmare train/car journey of a quick flight from Newcastle.

I can either choose the train/car option, fly or choose not to go at all
Although it would be nice to see everyone before I go never to return again

WWYD?

Yes, I would fly.

Bramshott · 27/11/2008 11:02

I'd go. Plane sounds easiest, but make sure you wear flight socks. You may be advised to get a doctors letter confirming how pregant you are just in case.

Bramshott · 27/11/2008 11:02

Oh, and take your notes with you of course.

Romy7 · 27/11/2008 11:03

yes, flew shorthaul regularly up to 36 weeks and longhaul at 32. it was fine. a car would have been unbearable.

anjlix · 27/11/2008 11:03

Umm I would not. I like to stay close to my nest...But every one is different...

cmotdibbler · 27/11/2008 11:03

Yes, I was still flying in the UK then. Much better to do the quick flight than a long car journey imo.

mummy2t · 27/11/2008 11:03

i'd go, would take notes just incase. xxx

ohIdoliketobebesidethe · 27/11/2008 11:04

I'd fly. It's a very short journey.

Tinasan · 27/11/2008 11:06

yup, I'm flying to Scotland before xmas and I'll be 32 weeks. Back at 34 weeks and then I'm off to PIL in Italy for 1 week so will be 35 weeks when I gt back. Did it last time too and no problems. You'll need a doctor's letter confirming how pregnant you are (don't think any of the carriers will take you after 36 weeks) and that you are in good health. Enjoy it!

lilymolly · 27/11/2008 11:06

I did go 42 weeks with dd so not likely to go into labour early.

But I am always frightened when I fly alone without dd and dp and feel like I am going to be wiped out in some plane crash

I know what you mean about the plane crash . I never felt like that before kids but now whenever I'm away from home I feel like I might lose them all or vice versa .

Sazisi · 27/11/2008 15:14

Yes, I'd go.
And I'd book myself lots of pampering treats for while I was there too

TessOly · 27/11/2008 17:01

I travelled regularly with work but started taking the train instead of flying when I found out I was pg, now 23 wks but planning to avoid work travel if I can tbh, not so much the flight issue but you do have to lug your bags about and when I was in Sheffield the other week the train station lift was out, just make sure your bags aren't too heavy if you do decide to go.

TheInvisibleHand · 27/11/2008 17:48

I'd go. This is probably lunacy, but I am due to do a Eurostar trip in a couple of weeks at 37 weeks.

MrsHappy · 27/11/2008 20:07

Not lunacy at all theinvisiblehand. The likelihood of the baby coming on any given day is pretty low (esp at 37 weeks) and there are hospitals on the continent too!
Just make sure you have one of those cards that replaced the E111!
