I am36 weeks and have suddenly hit the wall! Very achey, tired irritable (DH would say irrational!)

What can reflexology do?

Reflexologists can try to kick off the birth process for you by stimulating various nerves in your feet and ankles, but they won't do this until your due date.

Having said that, lying there for an hour with your feet up having a non-birth-inducing foot massage might put you in a better mood? I remember hitting the same wall at 37 weeks - you have my sympathy!

Thanks for replies, I don't really want them to start me off - as much as I would love it out now my DH isn't around until the day after my due date! Am desperate for something to ease the aches and pains!! I am dreaming I know - have just fed my two dcs jelly for breakfast I just can't be bothered today!!

There's a Danish study which suggested that women who had reflexology during pregnancy tended to give birth with greater ease and speed than those who hadn't. Dunno, but I went once a week from about 33 weeks til my due date (went 5 days over). It was wonderfully relaxing. And I had a lovely, uncomplicated homebirth without any need for pain relief of any kind. I doubt I'm statistically representative, but that's my experience, at least!

It can apparently help with aches and pains (backpain etc.) and mood swings. If nothing else, its a lovely relaxing foot massage and an hour to yourself.

I had weekly sessions from 34 weeks and also had uncomplicated birth
