When do you start classes? How do you find out about them-Midwife or hospital???
Are they worth it?

This is my 1st. 19+2

they have them at the hospital here, maybe they'll tell u at your 20 week scan?sorry not much help!but im sure your midwife will know

ask your midwife - I think there is even a section in your notes which your midwife should help you complete with what is available.

I seem to remember starting doing a physio one-off class at 16wks, then the proper antenatal classes started about 24 weeks or so.

Find one and go along to the first class. I wasn't keen, but once I realised it was all first-timers about the same age as me, we ended up being a really good support to each other, and have stayed firm friends despite moving to different areas.

It was ideal because they were then off on mat leave before/after baby when I was really needing to get out the house!

I signed up for NCT classes as soon as I found out I was pg - they were recommended to me by loads of people and get booked up quickly. To find your nearest branch go to www.nct.org.uk/home

Haven't done them yet (am currently 17+4 with first baby) so can't tell you if they are any good - but have heard lots of good things about them!

Hope that helps

Hospital told me about the ones they run at 12 week scan.

I also signed up for NCT, which have proven invaluable and I would definitley recommend them. They helped me make informed decisions about my birth and the first few weeks of looking after DC, but most importantly I have made some good, like minded friends, with babies of similar age. DC is 10 weeks old now, and we have been great support to each other these last few months. They do book up quickly though. They they tend to put you on a course (it's about 16 hours spread over evenings and w/e) for when you are about 32 weeks pg.

As a newbie, I basically signed up for anything going!
