blimey poor you! I am no medical expert but doubt it would harm the baby - more worried about your skin. Can you run some cool water over it with your shower head?

hopefully someone else more knowledgeable will be along soon to help!

poor thing putting a cold teatowel on is the right thing i am sure that the baby is safe in there.

whats the skin like? remember all burns/scalds over the size of a 50p piece need to be checked out. am sure bubs will be fine though.

I think there would be enough insulation....and there was no "direct" contact to scold him...although it obviously startled him!

You never know it may encourage him to put in an appearance which I am guessing is probably no bad thing at this stage

the area is about the size of a plate, it isnt a burn as such, no blister or anything, just a bit pink and tender! Yes i was hoping (after not before obv!) that maybe it#ll give him a little poke!

You poor thing. I would just keep reapplying cold wet teatowel on the area.
I imagine that, although you may have scalded the skin, baby is still floating around in amniotic fluid so should'nt have felt anything; probably jumped because you did or you shrieked?
