i'm 16 weeks - just slipped in the rain and went flying. Have grazed my knees. I don't think I fell directly onto my bump but did end up face down

have called gp and they said to come in at 5pm - should i be going up to labour ward or something before then?? or shall i just sit tight.

No pain or bleeding (touch wood...)

oh poor you what a worry for you.
Hope your not hurt too much?I would try and rest and see your GP unless you start bleeding.
xx

Im sure little one is fine btw

anjlix · 10/11/2008 13:43

awww. Most likely it it will be nothing. Do what feels right to you. I fell a bunch of times around that time. Freaked other people out more than me. I remember a co-worker at office was nearly about to faint.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 10/11/2008 13:43

To start with (and I know it's easy to say but...) try not to wory too much, chances are everything is absolutely fine. Babies are so very well protected in there, even if you had have gone straight down on your bump the chances of everything being fine are very very high.

As to whether you wait till 5 or not, well that is entirely up to you. I'd say if no pain/bleeding then wait it out, but if you are very worried then go earlier, there is nothing like peace of mind!

I hope your war wounds get better soon, luckily in these sort of situations, 99% of the time, it is deffo the knees and the pride that take the biggest knock.

Good luck for whatever you do

Snaf · 10/11/2008 13:46

Ouch, you poor thing.

Try not to worry - the likelihood is that things are absolutely fine. Your baby is very well protected in there.

It's a good sign that there is no pain or bleeding - if there was you should definitely be making your way to A&E but as it stands I think you're probably OK to wait for the GP appt.

daisyj · 10/11/2008 13:48

Oh you poor thing, how horrible. I'm sure others will answer but just wanted to try to reassure you, as I am 20 weeks and have been terrified of doing same all day in this weather.

It's good that you can see your gp this afternoon. It must have been a big shock, but I think that if you feel fine and you didn't hit bump then sitting tight is probably the best thing to do. Are you at work or near someone you can tell in RL? It might ease your mind to get it off your chest.

Also I'd suggest calling the midwife for reassurance if you haven't already, and remember that the little one is very well cushioned in there so if you haven't suffered a direct hit the likelihood is that all is very much fine.

Hopefully gp will be able to listen to hb for you... Let us know how it goes.

LynetteScavo · 10/11/2008 13:49

Poor you! Like others have said, the baby is very well protected, so should be fine. Have a rest and try to recover this afternoon.

Thanks very much everyone starting to wish I'd invested in a doppler!!

I've got my other two dc to collect at 3.30 but trying to arrange for someone else to do that. Will keep my feet up until 5 I think

Thanks again.
