Nearly 37 weeks pg - diarrhea and vomitting - should I be worried?

I am 36 + 5 today and over the last 24 hours have had really bad vomitting and some diarrhea. Wasnt able to sleep with it last night, and couldnt keep water down. Feel a lot better today- not really sick anymore and havng no probs keeping water/fluids down. I still feel a bit crampy, I think in my stomach/bowels (though not entirely sure where they are any more!). Baby still feels very active.
Should I be worried about this? I rung the MW and have left a message, but I know from previous pg they often dont have time to get back to you, and recommend you call the hospital for urgent cases. I really dont want to call the hospital unless I really should (think they may tell me to come down, involves getting care for DD etc - all of which would do if necessary, but would lke to know if it is first). I have a regular MW appt tomorrow morning in any case. My question really is is it OK to assume this is just a stomach bug and so long as I am not getting dehydrated it wont affect the baby? Or should I be taking it more seriously? Thank you!

Hello
I've just had what sounds like same bug so thought I'd respond. Im preg but as much as you, only 21wks.

Whilst I think these things can be bad if heavily preg as can bring on contractions if you've stopped being sick now etc, prob ok to just rest, drink loads and loads and try to get some sugar into you. Maybe ring hosp if cramping gets worse?

Afterward my bug, I had really bad pains in guts and bump after that I think was probably due to my empty squashed guts getting food in them again. Though it did take a visit to a dr (who said it might be abbruption!)to relax a bit

I also felt shite for a couple of days and still not 100% now- (was sick Tues this week) think these things are harder to get over when preg. So take it easy if you can.

Thanks for your responses. Cramping hasnt got worse, ddnt hear back from midwife so gong to hang on until appt tomorrow. reassuring to hear you had similar sorts of pains, GYo - I guess it must be normal isnt it, after all the stomach has been through!
