I'm absolutely knackered after last night...

Like all first time mothers I was desperate to feel baby kicking. This week it started - I'm only 16+5 but this is the week little mini-munchkin has started to kick. And kick it did last night... I felt like there was a River Dance practice session taking place on my bladder!! If I got two hours sleep last night it was a lot... poor DH was not amused...

Does anyone have any magic sleeping tips? Our bed is rather small so I can't really do the "prop-up-with-pillows" thing without kicking DH out on the floor... In normal, non-preggie circumstances I'd pop one of my awesome herbal sleeping tablets BUT I'm not taking any chances with little one on the way... Any other suggestions that'll help me feel more human in the mornings? I'll be ever so grateful!!

No sugary/stimulating foods near to bedtime, not even fruit juice. They'll all make the baby dance.

Unfortunately, there's not much you can do about it other than that because they like it when it's quiet and they can kick away like mad! Perhaps you could try a bath and a nice big cup of hot milk at bedtime to get you really drowsy.

My advice... get a bigger bed if you can! we got a kingsize when I was pg and it was a godsend, as I got set up with several pillows to get comfy, and also when he arrived baby wanted us to co-sleep too which would have been impossible with the combination of a double bed and my fat arse! lol

Sympathy! Grim isn't it? I haven't slept well for about a month now (25 weeks with twins), some nights worse than others. Having anything at all sugary in the evening makes it worse, even hot choc/horlicks (plain milk ok) and I'm better if I have just a light supper by about 7pm, nothing later.

Hi Kittykat

I've had the same at 21 weeks. I am so knackered at work, feel like a walking zombie !
I bought some homeopathic remedy called Insomed Relief (made here in NZ by Natro Pharm) for me to help me sleep as found once I woke up it is had to get back to sleep. Probably desn't make much difference if baby is wiggling and kicking about.
Good luck. No one told me about this!
