pain in labia

it's like a throbbing, heavy sensation, pretty constant but at some times fairly painful. I've had a little look but can't see anything - anyone experienced this or any idea what it might be? I'm 31+5. Thanks.

are you referring to your groin area? if so it sounds like you might have a bit of spd, i have it (36+3)... it's sore! was referred to a physio, top tip is not to cross your legs, not to balance on one leg getting dressed, in and out of cars etc, avoid steps... basically anything that splits your legs!

hang in there x

I apologise now for the detail but it's the tip of one of my lips - i've read about SPD and not sure it sounds like that, as my pain is entirely in one small location. It feels like a throbbing vein.

marmaduke - yes it does seem to ease if I do this! OMG could I really have piles right next to my clit???

I have the same sort of pain you describe, I'm only 20+5 and mine is not constant but does get pretty painful, I thought it may be varacoise vein(sp?), not even sure if you can get them there!

I had this when i was pg with dd2 - quite painful as i got towards the 40 week mark. But it cleared up after the birth. I think if is the weight of teh baby combined with increased blood flow ( sorry for ultra un medical description)

Almost certainly varicose veins. Try wearing a maternity pad in your knickers. Applying pressure eased the discomfort for me. If they get itchy try Canesten cream. They're unpleasant but (I think) harmless. They will shrink after you give birth, leaving your labia look like a scrotum for a few weeks until the flesh tightens up again.

Lovvvvvvely - one more of the joys of pregnancy.

yikes, makes me almost glad my partner isn't going down there at the moment so he hopefully won't have to see this lol! What a place to get varicose veins :-(

Sounds like vulval varicosoties (sp) (varicose veins) I had them when prg with DD and they disappeared as soon as I'd had her. I'm now 20 weeks with DC2 and can feel the same dull ache and am dreading the next 20 wks! I was walking around holding myself together towards the end of the first preg.

If you sit down, try and do it with your feet elevated. Excercise and moving about, not standing still is the best thing to ease discomfort.

i have just come back from the hospital as i fell spectacularly on the street right onto my bump! baby thank goodness if fine....

i am 37+5, c-section booked for next week!

anyway, consultant did a speculum which hurt like hell and it turns out i have a very bad infection - NOT PICKED UP BY urine test...

my symptoms sound just like OP... got worse past few days, even had dh have a look last night for v veins etc, but it seems it's all internal...

worth getting it checked out and ask for an internal if your pee test comes back clear!
