i feel like i did a couple months ago. so bone achingly tired. i slept for 9ish hours last night and now at 13:23 i could honestly go for a nap.
i don't remember feeling like this last time. is it normal? am i coming down with something? should i just give up and go to bed??

God, I was like a zombie when pg with ds.
Have a nap - it will really help.

nickytwotimes · 04/11/2008 13:25

Oh and no harm getting your blood count checked for aneamia.

ginnny · 04/11/2008 13:27

Congratulations
I remember that feeling - I was like that for the whole 9 months (especially with ds2 as I had ds1 to chase after too!)
Agree with Nicky - try and have a nap.

i've made an appointment with the midwife for next week so i'll ask about my bloods. i was anaemic last time.
i guess having a 3yo to run after doesn't help either!

tiredness comes n goes . it happened to me too. was very tired in the fisrt trimester, then second trimester was like a God given gift, so much energy, but now and again extreme tiredness creeps in. Every day is different and I am not anaemic. Sleep helps

purplemonkey I am 22+3 and only just starting to come out of the other side of the tiredness!! Up until about 17/18 weeks I was sleeping from 8-8.30pm to 6/7am, then napping for an hour on my lunch 12.30-1.30, then just collapsing and doing nothing when i go home at 6.30.
I can now manage bed at 10pm and then get up at 6.30 and just taking it easy when i get home...I no longer need a nap at lunch!

I asked about anaemia repeatedly but testa always came back fine...I know its easier said than done (as I have no children already) but if you can...take a short nap...under an hour...it is long enough to refresh you but not so long that you feel more tired after!!!

What do your blood test results say?

Tiredness at 15 weeks sounds like iron-deficiency anemia to me.

Are you taking your prenatal vitamins?

sunshine185 · 04/11/2008 13:57

try a sachet of spatone (natural iron) supplement with orange juice every morning, perked me up... i was diagnosed mildly aenemic even though i was taking pregnacare...

spatone can get from boots, doing 3 for 2 right now! works a treat and no side effects, developed for pregnant women...

CoteDAzur · 04/11/2008 13:59

Does spatone constipate?

purplemonkeydishwasher · 04/11/2008 17:42

i'm already having trouble in the poo department. i really don't want to have to take anthing that'll make it worse!! i had heard that the liquid iron supplement was better. i'll ask though.

I was exhausted for the first 20 weeks with this pregnancy. All fairly normal, as long as all your checks at the MW are going OK. Don't worry. Sleep!

Littlemisskiwi · 05/11/2008 01:43

Hi
I'm 21 weeks and totaly exhaused. i wake up and feel like I haven't slept. In fact i don't sleep that well anyway. I wake up hungry in the night and if I eat I then lie awake not being able to go back to sleep, if I don't eat I end up being sick.
Some days when I feel a mild improvement in energy, I haven't done anything dfferent something just changes.
It is reassuring to know i am not the only one who has been tired. I went to the doctor who started talking about emotional issues!

prada · 05/11/2008 08:19

spatone doesn't constipate, infact mixed with the orange juice it actually helps me keep regular!!

if you are pregnant and tired try spatone (made for pregnant women)... IT REALLY WORKS, don't suffer, i did up to 24 weeks!

mrsgboring · 05/11/2008 08:25

I am tired too and sick too at 14 weeks. I think I'm more tired this time round, but have always found pg tiring, depressing, and generally like an exhausting 9 month long illness. Never been anaemic. Rest when you can and count the days.
