Due date calculation confusion, help, please!

First day of LMP was 23 Sept but my cycle is normally around 42 days. However, looking back to when I had my first baby, the date was calculated on 28 days (even though I was still more around 42 days)and she was one day late weighing 9lb and with no problems so appeared on time.

I am really confused as to where I am now as different web site calculators tell me different dates.

Midwives don't want to see me for ages but I don't want to miss my nuchal scan.

What do you think ladies??

If you look at the EDD calculator on the BBC website you can alter your cycle length on there

I'd make your due date 30th June 09 for now, which is the date calculated from your LMP, but then when you have your 12ish week scan, go with the due date they tell you from that, as that will be more accurate.

Thanks but I've done those and that's where I get confused as I was seemingly dated as per a 28 day cycle with my first baby and that appeared accurate although I would say I am nearer 42 days. I don't know whether to calculate it based as 28 or 42.

Hi Cillapops, my cycle was also about 42 days (anything between 35 and 46 days), so when I had a BFP I was very dubious on the dates the midwife calculcated. But my first scan has confirmed it to the day, apparently even with a very long cycle you can still ovulate the same time as 'normal' 28-dayers. You could still be a couple of weeks either side of it though. Talk to the nuchal scan people about it and they should advise you so you don't miss that window. Good luck x.
