Mini cooper with maxi cosi cabrio seat?

Not sure this is the right place to post this BUT has anyone used the maxi cosi cabrio seat in a Mini without the isofix base? We have got one and did get Mothercare to check it first, but now that we've been trying it out (baby isn't here yet!), we're not so sure how secure it is.

Anyone have any experience of this? Need some reassurance! Thanks.

Yes, we usually have our Maxi Cosi in our big VW, but once or twice have put it in the Mini - but it takes up quite a bit of room so have actually bought a Britax one especially for it. Oh, do you mean the one for 0-9months or for 1year +?

I used the 0-9 month one in our mini cooper without isofix base. Was fine. You can get a foam roll from Halfords I think to help secure it in place abit more (as the tucket seat element means it does have some movement but was assured both by mothercare and Halfords it was safe so long as you've properly tightened the seat belt across it).

I have also used the maxi cosi seat (0-9months) in the back of a mini without the isofix. Have now 'graduated' into the front facing seat in the back of the mini. Mothercare sell a seat protector which is worth getting if you have leather seats. About £20 I think.

Yes, it's the 0-9 months seat I'm talking about. Maybe I'll go to Mothercare/Halfords and try to get a foam roll. The seats are not leather but do seem to be angled downwards a bit so I am a bit worried that the seat could tip/roll backwards. But your post has reassured me dinkystinky. Maybe I just need to experiment with tightening the seatbelt!
