Scars stretching painfully as bump gets bigger - anything good to use?

Have two emergency appendectomy scars (the big one a good few inches long to start with) and I've developed a persistent painful itch around the area the more my belly grows. If it gets pressed into it hurts even more - much pain at ultrasound yesterday.

Any creams I can use that might calm it down? I'm pretty sure it's just the skin stretching and nothing more.

I use bio-oil on my scar area which is stretching horrendously at 30 weeks!

More pricey, but I find it better than cocoa butter...

Hi, I'm only afew weeks pegnant but have bloated quite a bit. I had my appendix out in Jan this year with a laparoscopy and I've got pain in my tummy right near the cut that went down from the middle of my belly button, I can only think it's because of the scar and hope it's nothing else, did yours hurt?

Well, I didn't have a laparoscopy (Was a VERY emergency op! They just sliced me open to get to the burst appendix as quickly as they could before my peritonitis got worse!!

Generally though, I did have pains around the area of my scar for a while afterwards, some were just my skin healing - so quite itchy almost and some went further down and were more like a dull ache which I assumed was internal stitches healing. Now I am pregnant I have had lots of twitchy pains around the scar which I have taken to be my body shifting around and putting pressure against the scars.

However - if it's persistent and really painful I would definately say get it checked out, don't want to scare you but it could possibly be infected, although I suppose this is a bit late for symptoms to start - you don't wanna ignore it if it is something a bit more serious.

Sorry long reply!

I also have surgical scars across my abdomen and have to inject into the area too which makes the skin itchy. I wouldn't go as far as saying it's painful but it is intensely irritating at times. I have got good relief from E45 Anti-Itch cream which is, happily, also pretty cheap and easy to get. As other people have said, it might be worth getting checked to make sure it's only strain on the skin, but I would recommend the E45.
