I am 10 weeks PG and since about 6 weeks I have felt constantly carsick it lasts most of the day and gets worse with smells and food for instance opening the fridge door sets me off and I can't empty the bin anymore .
I am hardly ever actually sick just the constant carsick feeling.
It is starting to really get to me now especially this week as the dc are on half term and all I want to do is sleep and the buggers wont let me .
I have had morning sickness with the others but it was actual throwing up and then feeling better until I threw up again IYSWIM?
And I could just about cope with that but this time it is so hard ...any advice anyone please?

So sorry mine has just stopped, tried everything in last pregnancy the only thing that worked this time was lemonade and white toast in the morning. No caffeine

themoon666 · 26/10/2008 20:46

I suffered this too. I was ok for about 2 minutes after I woke in the morning, but only if I kept very still. As soon as I moved the sickness/nausea started and stayed with me until I went to sleep.

I did find a bit of relief if I had a full tummy. Like half an hour after a big meal.

Trouble is this caused me to put on 2 stone very quickly.

On the positive side, it went away suddenly at 12 weeks. I woke up one morning and, wham, gone.

(Love your name)
I felt like this with dd (was fine with ds though so its maybe a hormonal thing?) It was horrible and it didn't help that I was living in a shared flat at uni at the time (think 9 burly men with a penchant for fried food and not emptying bins-yuk) The only thing that got me through the day was just lying really still (not an option when you've got other ones though) and keeping hydrated- a neverending supply of water on hand at all times. Sucking polo mints seemed to help as well. Is there any way you could lay on the sofa while the dc play around you? O and I second the lemonade thing as well- I never usually drink fizzy stuff but it really helped my nausea in both pgs.

I think if you search on here you'll find more advice. I just ate carbs all the time!I have heard sniffing a cut lemon is good and the Saturday Guardian dr this weekend said don't eat dry and wet food together!

Thankyou I don't drink tea or coffee (well just green tea) but funnily enough the lemonade and white toast seems to ease it for me too .
I just feel really crappy about cooking because I usually cook at least once a day and I just can't face it ATM and I don't fancy anything at all even food on TV makes me want to hurl .
Lets just hope it stops in a couple of weeks.

I was like this with all mine. very rarely sick but feeling sick the whole time, bloody gets to you after a while. I found that eating small amounts a lot of the time helped.

something neutral that doesnt need a whole lot of cooking like ginger biscuits or toast. with middle pregnancy I ate instant super noodles a lot!!!

Not ideal pregnancy food but you do whatever gets you through.

good luck it will be over soon

It is awful so you have my sympathies.

Have had MS twice - first time I couldn't eat anything and just felt lousy all the time. Second time round, I found eating (usually salty carby stuff like crisps, cheddars etc) helped but the main thing that got me through the really rough times was sucking Foxs glacier mints - don't know why but it took the edge off the nausea for a while which was a huge relief! I never went anywhere without a huge supply in my handbag

Hope this works for you - there is a company here in Oz, called Blackmores. They make a tablet with ginger and B6 in it, and it's incredible.

I know Blackmores exists in the UK, but you might need to order over the phone or something. I know they are stocked at Apotheke in Chiswick, London, they might be able to help.

I really really recommend it.......

I've just found their practitioner website, but I'm sure they'll be able to help...

Good luck,

J

found sugary drinks good - half an hour or so before eating, then could stomach food. If fizzy not your thing then try capri sun juice drink (has sugar, not the pure juice type) or feel good juice co drinks (no sugar though)

babyinbelly · 27/10/2008 10:45

I also found that lemonade helped, as well as dr pepper (never normally drink fizzy) My friend gave me some ginger teabag which helped but I was about 16weeks by that time and ms was easing off anyway but they did help.

Now 22weeks and really enjoying pregnancy can barely remember how bad I felt at 10 weeks so it does get better.
