Is it normal to be so ravenous all the time. I ahve been craving anything protein for the past week and yesterday and today feel hungry all the time.

Do I have to give in to the hunger, not putting on much weight at all.

I went this way too after not really putting any weight on in the first trimester. Now I am hungry a lot of the time, though I do also find I get full more quickly. I've been giving in to it...

Yeah, I have that too. You think that you coul eat loads but you fill up quickly. How far along are you?

cookie I have been like that for a couple of weeks now! Im 20+5 and am constantly hungry...but if I plate up a big meal I usually dont even eat half before Im stuffed...then hungry again 2 hours later!

I think there is a lot of truth in the eating little and often thing when pregnant! I now bring sandwiches and fruit into work. I have cereal when I get to work at about 8.30, then half a sandwich + fruit at 10.30/11, something hot for lunch at 12.30, other half of sandwich and fruit at 3ish, snack (yoghurt/crisps) when I get in at 6 as Im cooking tea, then a hot meal for tea at about 7!! And I quite often find myself having porridge or cereal at 9/9.30!

So as long as you arent eatig the wrong stuff....just go with it! If you're hungry....eat!!!!

I am 24 weeks PG and around your term I felt the same! It slows down though. Now I am not as hungry, but I did put awful amount of weight in those weeks. Alltogether I am 12 kgs extra, and even my GP says this is a lot considering the =fact I have 3,5 more months to go, so be careful and if you are hungry do not give in to doughnuts

Eat and drink if you're hungry! Make sure you're well hydrated as the baby will be adding to your fluid needs too.
I was hungry at around 20 weeks with both - just did what I felt I needed, and at 3 proper meals and 3 good snacks each day.

Breakfast: Porridge with banana and nuts or greek yoghurt
Snack: Mixed nuts, apple
Lunch: Baked potato and tuna mayo/cheese and beans. Or a ham and salad sarnie and crisps. Fish and chips once a week Grin
Snack: Glass of milk
Dinner: Anything, I cook most meals and cook pretty healthy stuff usually.
Snacks: Orange, few squares of choc and a milky drink before bed. Sometimes some toast and peanut butter.

Forgot to say - I have a health condition that makes me need lots of food (I didn't include the supplements in the above menu)... and didn't gain much weight inspite of having alot more than I thought I would need on top of my usual intake. So... even though growing a baby technically doesn't burn up loads, your body must have an increased metabolism if it's always hungry.
