Why am I waking so early?

I'm 4.5 weeks pregnant and for the last 2 weeks have been waking increasingly early, despite being absolutely shattered and heading for bed no later than 10ish. Last night was the worst - waking at 2.45 and not getting back to sleep.
It's my 5th pregnancy (mmc in July) and I have 3 dds. I didn't have this with dds at all (though had a week or so of it with mc).
Just wondering why this is happening - is it hormone related? Has anyone else had this?
I'm really struggling for a 4 hour round trip commute, working full-time (though have a day working from home which helps)and looking after 3 dds under 7. Starting to feel like newborn weeks - triping over my own feet, making mistakes at work etc. Will it end soon?
Any advice/insight greatly appreciated!

Will check out the spray Jools, though did think as MsG says to check it's safe etc in pregnancy. Woek again atb 2.45 last niught, then 4ish, 5ish, but did manage to get back to sleep each time so feel much better today

me again!

glad you feel better today DIEGE

forgot to mention something that really helps (DIEGE - your waking times during the night just reminded me). i have got rid of all alarm clocks, or anything that tells the time in my bedroom as i found if i knew what time it was i would stress out even more (both during the night and in the day) thinking i've only had so and so hours sleep. now if i wake up i dont know the time so relax a bit more. DH is also forbidden to tell me the time!

it really has helped, if only that it has stopped me obsessing about sleep so much!

X

I think there is a big difference between using oils as true aromatherapy and using them very very diluted and diffused lightly into the air round your pillow.

I did look into the ingredients though - enquired of the Body Shop and they consider it safe but, since it contains Juniper Oil which (thanks to Google) I've found is a uterine stimulant and not recommended, I think I'll live without it - shame as it was working well.

I've looked up lavender aswell and it is highly recommended - but not in the first trimester.

Sleep seems to much better thanks . I'm still waking at the same times but dropping off almost immediately.
You're right MUNTERIA about looking at the clock - I do panic though if I don't know if it's 2am or 6am! (control freak ).
Interesting about lavender JOOLS. I have just got some imperial leather lavender bath stuff - presume it's OK as it'll be perfume rather than essential oils?

I have a similar problem. Knackered at night and going to bed early but when i'm there i wake up tonnes of times throughout the night then up early. I also have some very freaky dreams that i never had before i fell pregnant. It's every single night! I also wake up very dehydrated! Anyone else overly dehydrated while pregnant? I'm 11 weeks.
