can I take paracetamol while pregnant?

Just that really. I'm 15 weeks and have ahad a shocking headache for two days. Happy to try alternative rememdies if people have any suggestions.

thanks, it's a real skull crusher and I've been trying to just grin a bare it but every time I move my head ahh.

I'm taking a pregnancy multivit thing which I guess has iron in it but I'm quite a headachey person anyway.

make sure you keep yourself well hydrated and eat regulary

I had horrible headaches up until about 18 weeks, then they just stopped.

have you tried those 4-head strip things that stick to your head? They don't make the headache go away, but they make it a little more bearable.

You can also take codeine based products - I was prescribed fairly heavy duty ones when laid low for days at a time with the most dreadful migraines when pg with ds3. Ask your local chemist in the first instance.

i wanted to take some the other day for my cold - pharmacist said 2 paracetamol 2-3 times a day but 1 is better

Thanks all, headache is manageable again after a lunch time outing and some fresh air but I'll remember for future.

Yeah, I was prescribed mild codeine too. Apparently its in the same family of drugs as pethedeine.

Did you know that you can take parracytomal in the early stages of labour??

Also stock up for post-birth as it is the only painkiller you can take if breastfeeding & you wioll need it in those early days!
