At 18 + 4 and I've been feeling movements on and off since about 14 weeks. Since about 16 weeks I've felt it every day, several times a day (3 or 4) - but the last two days I've felt it maybe once a day. I think I'm worrying over nothing but would appreciate some words of wisdom!

A lot depends on the amount of fluid and the babys position. It is still early days to be feeling a lot of movement - is it possible that you've been busy with other things and not noticed more movements?

hiya...I'm further on than you, but had a mad panic about this the other day too (even went to hospital to get his heartbeat checked!!!). Basically, the position baby gets themself into can REALLY make a diff to how much you feel them move, & as you get further on & there's less room you do feel less, n it's a different type of movement....my doc also offered the helpful advice that babies movements pick up on your mood, & the more stressed you get, the quieter they become usually - so if you've been worrying about this that might add to it!

BUT if you're worrying yourself, just go along to your hospital & ask for a check. They'll have a feel, listen to the heartbeat...& just set your mind at rest. I know you'll feel silly like I did, but they're seriously used to it with new mums...n better to be safe than sorry!!!

xx

The position thing is interesting - one of the things I felt about two days ago was def the baby turning over - a real sort of stomach churning swoosh - maybe its kicking towards the back now....!

I did also build a chest of drawers today...that could have masked some stuff I suppose!

That is interesting then and that's probably what's happening here. In the absence of any worrying symptoms I'd just try not to dwell on it. It's very hard not to worry about things going wrong - but for most people, most of the time pregnancy works out just fine. Saying that - I'm the person who at 27 weeks was scuttling down to ante-natal (I work in a hospital) because I hadn't felt any movements since getting up. I had a chat with the midwife and she said to come back at lunchtime (about an hour later) if still nothing. Went back to the office and dd3 (as she turned out to be) went crazy kicking all over the place. No idea what she was doing till then - having a lie in???

It's probably a girl then - they are awkward little madams from very early on I have three......

Great to hear baby has shifted a bit

agree with mybumpsaboy.. if you're concerned at all, go to the hospital. MNetters can only give you advice up to a point xxx

I also agree with mybumpsaboy (love the name!!). I've done the monitor thing twice now and they don't mind at all.
