Is 32 weeks too early for an NCT class?

Because of miscommunication with the NCT people all the December classes in West London are booked up (even though we contacted them in early June) - they only had classes available end of November when I'll be 32 weeks. Is that too early? I'm worried that all the other mums will be due far earlier than me and that might get in the way of postnatal meet ups. The NCT coordinator said "it should be OK" and recommended if I wanted I could go to a class in the week before I was due - no thanks! So was wondering whats the normal time people attend NCT/antenatal classes?

No, I didn't do NCT antental classes the first time, I went to a postnatal course which was great and I'd recommend it, people have more time to meet up afterwards, but most people's babies were a few months older and they went back to work sooner than me.

i might do the coffee mornings this time round, couldn't face doing the course again, even though I love my nct friends!

This course is daytimes - about 2 1/2 of them, so I'm hoping it's a refresher not just new mums to be - but as I said I didn't do it the first time, and I don't think I'd manage one on weekday evenings over 8 weeks, especially as none are in my area or even Wood Green, they're all in the posh bits - Crouch End and Muswell Hill. This one is Enfield so I fear everyone will just live too far away again but we'll see.

I did the one in canary wharf and most people are round my area, my friend did the same one and most are in canary wharf... luck of the draw! think crouch end would be a lovely place to hang out with the babies though!

Due dates are a little misleading. If you think of how they work it out then you can wee why! It is best to assume you could be as much as 3 weeks either was. I thought I would be 2 weeks after the DD - it was 2.5 weeks before - waters broke on the evening after the last class!

Very true georgiemum! Personally I'd rather be 2 weeks early than two weeks late...

careful what you wish for... I said that and had an emergency cs at 38 weeks! was sitting in a cafe with the nct lot, all bumps still, and was pretty much one of the last due. I famously said, 'but I want to be first' and that afternoon went into hospital!

Can anyone recommend the good NCT trainers in Chiswick/Shepherd's Bush/west London area? Heard some good and bad stories and debating whether to do it at all or whether to just go to the clubs after birth... Thinking a good course would be more about breathing etc and less about longwinded about what might go wrong. Most of my friends saying it is a waste of time to do the NCT course but feel there must be good ones? My first time and its like this whole new world I'm trying to learn about (am due end of feb).
