Trying to choose a consultant at Portland, pls help!

I've been driving myself crazy trying to choose a consultant at Portland. Could anyone possibly recommend one they had a good experience with? I've got some names, such as Armstrong, Eben, Nicholas, Mellon, Davis, etc. etc. but have no idea on who would be the best one. I'm a first timer, so the head is spinning a little Pls help. Thanks a lot!

I know Mellon - but not for pregnancy, had to have a hysteroctopy (??). Great bed side manner but I bled for a month afterwards through what was probably a mild infection and landed up getting the worst flu of my life ever, probably as a result of being weak from blood loss etc.

Obviously, not necessarily her fault and I did find her extremely easy to talk to about slightly awkward situations, very pleasant and her office was excellent.

I know these consultants as I worked for them
Colin Davis -lovely man
Clare Mellon-very nice
Miss Eben-lovely too, I think she did posh's first section
I would be happy for any of these three to deliver me
They are all consultants at London teaching hospitals so hopefully are all good at what they do

I am currently with Miss Catharine Roberts at Portland and am very happy with her. I'm 17 weeks, first child so cannot attest yet to delivery, but so far I have found her to be very pleasant, knowledgable, etc. and would happily recommend! I have seen her around every 4 weeks since week 5 or 6 and she is very thorough in her exams (we get to see the baby on a scan every time) and we sit and chat in her office about any concerns at each appt. Another plus is that she is usually running on time; i have only had to wait once.

wow,how come you lucky people get to go to the portland?.is that the one that costs £1000 per night?!!excuse the ignorance but live in lincolnshire and thought the portland was kind of reserved for celebs or something!i think i read victoria beckham had one of her children there so envious!!! x

if you have the right health insurance or are willing to extend your mortgae you can go the the Portland. If you get a package it can actually work out not to bad. Well worth the money in my opinion.

I had an elective CS for complication so was expected to be in for a while so they gave me a suite at no extra cost mm very nice.

Have a close friend who's had x 2 with Armstrong, been very happy with him and sounded like a decent fee (£4-4,500 I recall, some charge quite a bit more) (you will know that the hospital fees are on top of course).
