I know it's early yet but can't remember it feeling this bad last time. I'm not due till end of Sept so easily have another month of this. I slept 12 hours last night after my dd talking to her little sister through my mouth lol she thinks thats how she's coming out too, also insists it has to be a girl...

Sorry to rant but just feel rotten, wondered if anyone else felt the same.

Sorry, angel but I'm still feeling relatively normal and I'm due 21st sept. I have the odd icky feeling in the morning but that goes when I have some brekkie.
With DS1 + 2 I had horrible morning sickness and couldn't face food, let alone actually eat it aswell so even at this early stage I'm wondering 'is it a girl this time?'
We've got a long way to go though to find out, haven't we?!?
Good Luck to you I hope you don't suffer to much longer.

HI AngelMother. I had very little morning sickness with my first two so its been a bit of a shock to feel really rotten this time, however just a the beginning of my 13th week I'm starting to feel a little better. I found eating was the best cure. I've eaten and eaten and eaten ever since day one with chocolate digestives proving most successful. Thats my excuse anyway - anything else just made me feel sick!

ANGELMOTHER · 03/02/2003 17:21

EmmaTMG I'm so jealous, maybe you're right and it is a girl I know I did have some on DD but maybe my memory fails me also as this seems worse. Having said that I've just finished the first dinner I've managed to cook in a week and oh mmmmmmm custard slices are helping Might try choc digestives Katherine.

Do you think our teeth might fall out after all this sugar...

Sorry Angelmother, but I am sitting here at 32 weeks, and can still barf for Scotland. With ds was still being sick day before gave birth.

Although its not as bad this time, and its not every day, never mind only another 8 months to go!

I bought the largest bar of chocolate in Woolies the other day because I felt I deserved it. Didn't get rid of the nausea - made it worse - but was bloody lovely.
Sensible advice is ginger I hear, I never found it works though. Nothing works. And why do They call it 'morning sickness'? My mother says because it starts in the morning..... and goes on all day. Hey ho. How long to go?

Eating biscuits frequently and wearing seabands on my wrists definately helped.

lou33 · 06/02/2003 16:10

Seabands were the only non prescribed thing that worked for me.

Cha · 07/02/2003 14:30

What are seabands and where do you get them from?

mears · 07/02/2003 14:45

Seabands are elasticated wrist bands that have a little raised circular 'bump', that when you put them on they work by acupressure. The little bumb presses on the area on you wrist that controls nausea and sickness. People who suffer travel sickness often wear them. You can get them at chemist shops - Boots has them I think. Definately worked for me. I only discovered them in my 4th pregnancy and they definately made a difference.

Angelmother, I was sick almost every day, once a day for 5 months but to be honest, it wasn't being sick which was the worse, but feeling sick and watching the world get on with their lives whilst I had to give up working and felt more and more down.
HOWEVER, accupuncture helped me. I went through reflexology, reiki, and hypnotherapy to no avail (the lack of efficacy of the reflexology was disappointing as I am a reflexologist!) I'm afraid you need to try everything to find what suits you. I also took vitamin B6 which my has been reported to help pregnancy nausea, ginger and biscuits - everthing made me feel sick.
On the upside, my accupuncturist, a midwife, told me that the strongest pregnancies are those accompanied by the most vomiting and nausea and she keeps a closer eye on women who aren't experiencing such!
Take heart. All the best.
