OMG... my mums cousin has just come to my house and dropped off some baby stuff foe me....

Theres tonnes!

I actually started crying because Ive always wanted a girl and am having one now, but shes my 3rd child. So I went crazy with DS1 buying him clothes and they lasted for DS2 as well.

But this time round, as I have 2 kids already and am skint I had bought a bundle from ebay of vests and babygrows (About 15 of each) and had resigned myself to the fact that she would just live in those for the first 6 months of her life!

But I have just received 5 bags full of dresses, tights, coats, snowsuits, cardigans, hats, gloves, socks, pants, tops,6 pairs of the cutest shoes ever... including tiny leopard ballerina pumps!,

a little red fleece swing coat with matching shoes ...

and i would say a quarter of it still has tags on!!

And its all from vertbaudet, monsoon, John Lewis etc

I can't belive it! I feel so lucky!

I just had to share!

I used to love dressing ds up in nice clothes, still do, come to that! My bf and I were talking today, funnily enough, about our favourite baby clothes we used to put them in, got quite emotional

My dd is 8 weeks old and I love dressing her up!! You are so lucky to have someone who can give you gorgeous clothes, I had to buy mine - If I have a boy next time he will have to wear pink!!

Also, because I went slightly mad buying pink clothes I am now skint and can only afford cheap ones. I buy white and get pink beads from Ebay that I sew on to 'girl' them up!!

That's fab for you. You will be able to "play" with it all while you wait for your new dd to arrive! My mum remembers when she was expecting me that for the last few weeks of pg she used to endlessly look at all the clothes and lay them all out etc, just with the excitement and anticipation of waiting for the baby (me!) to arrive.

Aww. My cousin sent a huuuuuge suitcase full of stuff over from Ireland when I was pg with dd and it was brilliant, sitting on the floor with piles of tiny clothes around me dreaming.

And it's great fun jumping up to the next size bracket and then running upstairs to the box to see what's in there. It's like a lucky dip. SIL also sends clothes as well so every few months I get a big parcel of stuff. It's lots more fun than buying it

How fab, we got loads and loads of clothes as pressies for dd as she is our first and we have generous family and friends, I passed it all on to my sil and am about to recycle it all for a second time, hope that recipients are a fraction as happy as you with them! Didn't seem right to just put it all in the loft.

OMG disenchanted thats sooo sweet if you need anything from about 1 year up let me know i've got loads, I gave most of DD's clothing to charity shops (she's now 2 1/2), but recently over last few months I've seen lots of bags of clothes taken from outside charity shops and strewn across the pavement . Could'nt bare to think of my dd's clothes rifled through by some low life but also don't have the space to keep them IYSWIM.

Ooh thats fantastic for you. I was lucky enough to have a similar experience. I was living in a shitty one bed flat in London ( before I saw sense and legged it to Cork). There was a 17 year old two doors up who was pregnant at the same time. She was going out with a Premiership footballer, and when she had her daughter two weeks before me she gave me two binliners full of non girly stuf she had been given, all still with tags, and mostly designer ( including several completely hideous Baby Dior outfits!). I wasn't (that) skint but it was hugely appreciated!

That's really kind. I was amazed by the number of people who gave us presents for DS, including a couple of neighbours and someone I used to work with about 12 years ago who knows dp now.

Im going to have to tell people not to buy her clothes when shes born!

I did the same with my boys stuff gave it away so I'm really appreciative of it all!

how lovely of your mums cousin - she'll love to see her baby clothes in use. When you see her be sure your dd is wearing an outfit from her.
