I'm 13 weeks pg and have been bleeding on and off (mostly on) from 5 weeks.
I have have 4 scans so far to check everything is ok.
The second scan they found the area that was bleeding-i was told it wasn't near the baby.
But when i phoned and spoke to the ward about the next scan they had my notes there and said "oh, i see from one of the scans the bleed was near the baby".
I said i was told different and they just said "oh,right".
That worried me.
Then, at my scan last week the consultant did my scan-only beacuse the Early pregnancy Unit had to close early and asked my history etc then as he was scanning he asked me how old i was.
I told him "33" then he said "ok".
He went on to say that everything seemed fine and was all my antenatal care in place.
So now i'm worrying that he saw something on the scan that wasn't right and my age may have been a factor.
Dh tells me i'm reading too much into this and that he would have to tell us if he saw a problem.
I don't know why i'm worring so much about this pregnancy.
Sorry this is so long but i need to hear some other peoples opinion.

If you've had cervial erosion before you are much more likely to have it again. In fact my docs were rather surprised i had an easier time with my second pg. Problem is, without a good look-see it is difficult to diagnose... and a good look-see is rather invasive in pg (they missed mine first couple of times as well... although the consultant got her mates in to look at a 'fabulous example' when they finally diagnosed it

Well at least you can say you were 'bloody fabulous'.

My gp say I am technically ' a bit of a bleeder'

nobodysfool · 20/07/2008 22:55

At least its only your gp who thinks that!

I take it back.
I'm bleeding again and it's bright red.
Great.

Ok, should also have said I had ALL hues - from nright red to pale brown.

best bit of advice I had was from my (honestly lovely) GP who said that taking it as easy as possible would not statsically be likely to make any difference to the outcome. BUT that I should still go easy on myself as then I wouldn't have anything to feel bad about if things didn't go well.
Do you work? What would be the worst that could happen if you pulled a few sickies? Could anyone else look after your eldest so you could have a couple of days resting, reading rubbish & drinking weak tea?

Much, much sympathy, it is truely shit.

My mum bled for 3 months when pg with me apparently.

Re age question, rather than asking because of anything on the scan, he was probably completing a form with that as a question, on the computer or on paper. The scan measurements and any other tests would always be considered in conjunction with age, but it's a routine question.

I'm sorry that you're going through such a worrying situation.

nobodysfool · 21/07/2008 08:33

Funny-sorry, went off the bed.
I don't wprk but as you say running around after a three year old takes it out of you.
My mum and dh are around a lot because of shift work so i have lots of hands at the ready.
I feels really lazy if i do nothing all day-i know i shouldn't but thats the way i am.

Elkidee-I didnt even think of that.Of course he could have been putting them onto the screen. You see how not with it i am.That has really put my mind at rest.Thank you.

Brilliant that you have so much 'cheap labour' around!

What worked to make me take it easy was the idea of how guilty I'd feel if I didn't, & the worst happened. I knew that I'd always blame myself - I didn't want to have any more 'what ifs' than necessary! Tell yourself you're doing the best thing for everyone involved, and give yourself a little TLC!

Oh, & Elkedee is of course right - I didn't think of it either but they do always need your age don't they?

nobodysfool · 21/07/2008 17:31

The bleeding is slowing down-nearly stopped.
I have got the dh to clean the windows while i had a rest.Don't even get me started on what he was going to use to clean them .
