I had pink/brown discharge at 6 weeks - that was 2 weeks ago, Is it too late to get it checked out now?

I have had 2 m/c before and when I saw the brown/pink discharge I assumed it was another. I was on holiday at the time and had had such bad experiences with hospital staff for my previous 2 m/cs that I decided just to let it happen 'naturally'.

However, it was just one time and have had no more since then. But reading old messages on here, it seems like EVERY bleed/coloured discharge ahould get checked out. I'm now panicking that the discharge was a sign of something bad, but am thinking it's to late to get it checked out now. Have a scan booked in 3 weeks time but that seems a long time away and I'm sick with worry all the time (hoping this is morning sickness as well!).

Do you think I should try and get an earlier scan?

Hello - sorry has taken me so long to reply, been stranded from MN for over 24 hours!
Thanks everyone for all your positive messages. I'm feeling so much better about things today. Starting to dare to believe that this might really work out....but won't really believe I'm pregnant until I see a little baby ticker beating away!
Pgwithnumber3, congrats on your preg! - hopefully I will see you around on here over the next 6 or 7 months! - I am due Feb 28th.
I'll let you know how I get on with getting an early scan - thanks again everyone for your wonderful support.

Oh another Feb baby, I really hope you are okay with this pregnancy, all sounds good so far. Sort out a scan asap as an early heartbeat detected diminishes the risk of miscarriage. It will put your mind at rest.

Quick update - I spoke to the doctor this morning. She said that as the bleeding was just a one off there was no need to do anything. I mentioned my history of m/c but she said she still wasn't worried.
I said that I was v. worried and needed reassurance that all was OK. She said to come in on Thurs to do another pg test (didn't tell er I'd already done one, wanted to maximise chances of getting a scan), that they would only scan if there was more bleeding.

Starting to wish I'd have been more assertive and pushed for an early scan. Now looks like I'll have to wait it out until the dating scan. Starting to get worried as I'm not feeling as nauseous and tired as I have been before. But could be all in my mind. Oh well, guess I'll have to resign myself to not knowing . Will try and take comfort from the positive test I did on Saturday....

blob, you will be fine, try not to worry too much as there is not a lot you can do to change these things. Everything sounds so positive so far so try to keep your chin up.

The advice she has given you is the right advice though, they will view it that they can't give early scans to every person who is worried (unfortunately for you and no relief either) as they would be inundated in the hospital for early scans. As you will know, the majority of people who have a light bleed/brownish discharge are usually okay, it is the heavy, bright red blood that would concern them.

If you are really really desperate is there no way you could afford a private scan? Maybe find out how much it is and see what your DH says.

I had pinky brown dischage at 8 weeks but after going to the local EPU for a scan all is well. I know this isn't gonna help as it didn't help me but this type of dischage is VERY common and doesn;t always mean something bad is gonna happen. Good luck

Unfortunately there's just no way we could afford a private scan at the moment. DH is so much more laid back about it than me anyway and is fairly happy to wait for our NHS one!

I am feeling a bit better today in any case, as I have been very nauseous and completely shattered, with tender boobs etc. Also am starting to look decidedly bumptious in the belly department (or may just have stopped breathing in! ).

So feeling positive....largely thanks to you guys! Means so much to hear your reassurances and positive stories - thank you .
