can anyone sign post me to somewhere that sells reasonably priced maternity bras? I'm finding it hard to find anything over a D cup on the net, though don't know where to look! I was a D before I got pregnant and I'm now DD going into an E , and only 27 weeks!

find an NCT agent - they have lots of nice ones and fit mahoosive norks too

I bought a bra last week from www.nursingbra.co.uk/ and it arrived the next day! The bravado ones were recommended by a few people. They do larger sizes too

85% of us wear the wrong bra size, mostly because M&S et al measure with a tape, a woman on my ante natal thread was told by Mothercare that she was a C/D cup only to find out she's in fact a FF!!
My advice is get fitted now, and again at 37 weeks. Bravissimo or Rigby and Peller are best, if you go anywhere and they get out a tape, walk the other way!!! You're always smaller in the back and bigger in the bust than you think and the right support is crucial now not only aesthetically but for the future health of your back, breasts and shoulders.
I'm anywhere between a 30G pre pregnancy to a 34H at 39 weeks, depends on the brand. Go try some on, no obligation to buy, then find them cheaper online. Do a google search for your size, there's too many companies for me to list!

Gilly - I am interested but confused. How should we measure bra sizes without using a tape measure?

gillythekid · 08/07/2008 14:22

Never DIY it!! I know it's a bloody pain, especially when you're heavily pregnant with toddlers in tow but it only takes half an hour tops and any corsetiere worth their salt will be able to fit you by sight alone. If you're nowhere near a Bravissimo or R&P there's usually a good old fashioned underwear shop where some old lady has been fitting since the year dot and can do it blindfolded. If you're really pushed, go to the Bravissimo website or helpline and they'll show you the correct way to do it with tape (ie, not adding on a mythical 4 inches!) It's always better to see the pro's in person though!
