I was fobbed off at the SPD class and insisted I had a 'one on one' physio session.

Turns out that after that today my pelvis is uneven, my 'core muscle' is a mere 1 out 0f the 10 its should be and the muscle lying over my belly is split 2 inches when it should be closed.

Basically Im falling apart, lol.

So crutches, Im not allowed to go upstairs without them, Im not allowed to pick my toddlers up and I have to have a brace fitted in a few weeks when I have built up my core muscle a bit.

Anyone else going through anything similar?

Not going through it but I had very similar issues in my pregnancy with DS. (turns out is was massivley exacerbated by undiagnosed arthritis, but at the time didn't know that). Mine started at 12 weeks and I was fobbed off until 24 weeks (first pregnancy!). I REALLY feel for you as it's hellish and you just see the months looming ahead of you. Is there any way you can get in some help for the next few months to help with your toddlers? There will be lots of summer au pairs looking at the moment, it might be what you need to tide you over?

I'm sure the physio has gone through it all with you but some basic pilates exercises can help with your core strength - imagine a line from hip bone to hip bone and try holding that in for a few seconds at a time building up.

Also do not be too proud to take pain killers. Straight paracetamol or even prescribed co-codamol can help.

I'm about to TTC again and so quite worried, but at least this time I'll be more assertive!

Yes those arch back and pull in tummy exercises!

I was quite as she said 'this is the price you pay for having 3 children and not ever exercising'

Thankfully I do have alot of support and DH works from home sometimes

Litterbug,

i had it by 12wks and on crutches with ds2 and my third pregnancy i got it at 8wks.(Was SPD, now PGP)

its horrible. its depressing.

take it easy, don't overstretch, be very careful when moving.

take a look at Pelvic Partnership

The physio and chiropractor didn't help me, wearing a support belt did at times, but try to wear a sarong (or similar) tied around your pelvis to support to (you can wear this all the time).

cx

p.s. if you email me i have a realy helpful pdf i can email you. [email protected].

Mine started at 11 weeks, I was feeling like my pubic bone would split in two every time I walked anywhere, and had no idea why. (Not as badly as you - so sorry you're dealing with that severity level). It's only my first baby so it's only likely to worsen for the next, but then I'm very double-jointed which apparently is a risk factor. BUT... my lovely physio also told me that SPD women can have easier births - we may have more spacious pelvises when push comes to shove! So vile pregnancies, but better births. I'm hanging on to that hope. And my tubigrip and support belt are hanging onto my pelvic girdle.

Hiya.

Thanks for the replies.

Have been using crutches constantly when going up and down the stairs, haven't ventured out with them yet, feel a bit daft.

but am doing my exercises but still feeling quite bad.

Doesn't help that I still have morning sickness too
