Would you be upset that your partner got himself present -new playstation after just brought baby home but not you?

My husband bought me mikimoto pearl earrings that he gave to me when our first was born. Bloody gorgeous they are. He wanted to get me a present as a token I suppose, and they have such sentimental value to me now and are such a precious memory. Nothing wrong with that and I adored him even more for it. Luckily for me I didn’t have babies with a gamer 🤦🏻‍♀️

I think we need a bit more info. I didn’t expect a push present but my husband did buy me something for each of my kids. But he didn’t give it to me straight away.

Is this something he might do? Buy you something later? Did you expect something I assume by your post but did you communicate with him? Frankly this would be something my husband wouldn’t have thought of or expect both my SIL and mil had a conversation with him about it 😁. And also did he say to you I bought this PlayStation as a present for being a father, or… his thoughts were I’m on paternity leave and will have time to kill (which is delusional I know but possible if first baby “, I thought I was going to have time to read 😂)

I would be furious, for two reasons.

First, women get push presents. Not everyone cares about them, wants one, or even knows about them. Personally, I got to choose three rings for my three birth and I love that.

My second reason: a PlayStation with a newborn? When exactly is he planning on playing? Yes, life doesn’t stop when you have a baby, and I’m sure he’ll find time eventually, but as a gift, that is basically screaming, “Here’s something for me to enjoy while you recover from giving birth and look after the baby.”

I’d honestly find it incredibly thoughtless and tone-deaf. Like, read the room: she just had your baby, and you bought yourself a PlayStation to congratulate yourself? Weird.

I wouldn't be annoyed that he bought himself something without buying me something; I wouldn't expect a present every time he wants to buy something; however, I would be surprised he'd bought a PlayStation just at the point we had a baby to look after
