Can a first baby change position once it's engaged?

I'm 37+4 weeks pregnant. Baby has been 3/5ths engaged since 34 weeks. During this time she has been lying with her back and bottom to the right side of my abdomen. Last night I felt a turning motion and now she seems to have swivelled and has her back and bum on my left side. Is this possible? There is some concern about whether I'll be able to deliver normally because I have scoliosis with one hip higher than the other so the pelvic outlet is at an angle iyswim. I'm wondering if this is an indication that she is having trouble engaging properly or if this movement is normal. I don't have any more appointments with my midwife now because they are fully booked so I can only be seen by a locum gp for standard antenatal checks. Just wondered if anyone knows the answer to this.

Thanks

The movement sounds normal to me as there's still quite a lot of space around baby. Professionally speaking, depending on the severity of your scoliosis, it should be absolutely fine and you should be able to give birth normally.

Oh yes, DD did an entire flip to breech about 36 weeks after being engaged for 10 weeks or so. Luckily she want back to head down. Babies do rotate naturally in labour anyway, don't worry.

Of course it can look (and feel) like they are erecting patio furniture in your bump when they do so

well I went to midwife yesterday to ask exact same thing... could baby have moved to OP position which I was worried about?

she said it was 3/5 engaged and for it to move now would be a minor miracle

so I am guessing answer is 'no' - however if you can now feel the baby on your left side, something has happened, I guess

hope you can get this cleared up - can you not see another midwife from your community team, or go to a midwife's clinic, or even book with a consultant at the hospital to speak to someone?
