hey!!
I have an anterior placenta, I am nearly 22 weeks pregnant with second baby. I noticed little flicks flutters last Thursday, I could feel them pretty much every night after or through the day and I am pretty sure I hadn’t felt them yesterday or today. Do I just wait and hope for some kicks? I know they can go in hiding and you can’t always feel the kicks I know just want some nice advice

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Mine was anterior too - you’ll be grateful for it as the baby grows, trust me!

Lie on your side tonight and see if you feel anything around midnight (they’re apparently most active then). If not, call the hospital tomorrow

From memory, it wasn’t a trampoline-fest around 22 weeks for me

Thank you for replying did you always feel the kicks? Or did you have a few nights off without feeling anything?

I very very rarely felt DS kick. He’s currently filling his face with bolognese he cooked earlier so turned out ok.

(also agree w PP that you should get checked if it’s worrying you. Takes 2 seconds to check)

I had an anterior placenta and I was in and out of triage because I had several occasions when I couldn’t feel movement. I was late to feel movement too, probably about 22 weeks. However once you feel movement and then don’t it’s always best to get checked, even if just to put your mind at ease. I had flutters for about a week at your stage and then nothing so I called the midwife who said it is normal but they could do a listen in just to check. My advice would be to call your midwife or triage and see what they say.

Thanks guys so much for replying it’s kinda put my
Mind at rest, if I haven’t felt anything by tomorrow I’ll definitely call. I am kinda positive I felt something earlier but can’t be certain :)

Lots of trusts won't do much to investigate reduced movements at 22 weeks.

I wouldn't worry tbh if you only stated feeling any movement at all a week ago it sounds like you aren't close to having an established pattern yet. Baby is still so small, they have plenty of space and you have an anterior placenta.

Definitely the latter. Even at 39 weeks, I wasn’t feeling it all day every day!

At 22 weeks it was more like flutters and very random.

I’ve had 2 anterior placentas and later on in pregnancy I did get regular movements, kicks and visible feet moving across the bump both times.
