How to manage bump getting in the way

My bump is sitting low, protruding, and in the front, I am only 29 weeks. In the last few days bump is in the way of everything in front of me. I have a very short torso so when I sit it is squished between my boobs and legs.. I feel like I will throw up if I tie my shoelaces, dh ties them in the morning but if they come undone i need to cross my leg up to a wall or I can't do it. Sitting in a chair or in the car is so uncomfortable, even if I recline seat in car. I can't recline it too much as I am very short.

Any tips on how to manage for the next 3ish months?

Get some shoes that slip on or have a single Velcro strap.

A yoga ball can help a bit with sitting.

Honestly OP you get used to it to an extent.

Another short torso here. I used slip on boots, sat on a yoga ball, had some epic manouvers to pick up anything I dropped and just got used to it. She did help me out by arriving at 34 weeks, so I didn't need to thole it the whole 40 weeks. Bump will move around though, so some days will be worse than others.

Sit with your legs open to give the bump more room or lean back a bit where possible. On the floor with legs crossed can be comfortable.

Get slip on shoes or pre-tie them with a double knot and slip them on instead.

26 weeks here and putting on socks, shaving legs etc is already difficult. Bringing the opposite leg across helps though, so like putting on socks, sit down and bring your right foot onto your left thigh and do it that way.

I remember resorting to wellies. Luckily for me it was winter

Thankyou all, I will get slip on shoes and exercise ball and just get through as much as I can

I got stuck in a pub door when I was pregnant. I’d been going to a colleague’s leaving do and there was a sort of entrance hall with double doors and I couldn’t open the second once the first had closed. It caused great merriment among the locals 😀

Slip on shoes and a very long shoe horn (a 1m one) is a lifesaver. Really helpful post pregnancy too and now my whole family uses it. I recommend it to everyone asking “what was your best buy”.

Could also replace laces on shoes with elastic laces if you want to keep using them.

I’m very sympathetic - halfway through my pregnancy I was going into autumn/winter and we were also house-hunting. Leaving home was fine, but visiting multiple houses, having to wrestle my boots back on when there was nowhere to sit and a huge bump that I was worried about squeezing too much, was a nightmare.
