Having suffered throughout my first pregnancy with hyperemesis gravidarum (and to a lesser extent with a subsequent) I can only empathise. Unfortunately nothing worked for me, not even medication from the doctor/midwife.

What meds did you try that didn’t work?

Eat little and often all day long. Starting the second you get up in the morning, any hint of hunger and you eat something. Anything you can stomach, cereal bar, buttered toast, packet of crisps. Low blood sugar and hunger make you feel horrendous when pregnant. This is my 4th pregnancy and I've not needed medication to handle the nausea but just learnt to eat my way through it.

If you’re sick all day, everyday, it is likely you have Hyperemisis Gravidarum. Please try and stay hydrated - if eating and drinking are difficult, try ice lollies.

If you need time off work, you & your employer should know that pregnancy related illness must be logged separately to other illness, and can not be used in disciplinary action against you.

Your GP can prescribe oral anti sickness meds (anti emetics) and will probably start with Cyclizine.

I ended up in hospital for rehydration several times in both pregnancies for anything from 1-14 days. Once I was on a drip, they gave me IV cyclizine, which is trippy, but amazing!

Pregnancy sickness Support are really helpful.

I ended up being off work from weeks 8-18 ish, but then the HG just “switched off”. Not everyone is that lucky. Please seek help.

Get to your doctors. I was the same and it took some trial and error with different anti-sickness tablets. I’ve found the one that works for me - it may not completely go but it should take the edge off the nausea. Like other posters try and not get completely hungry as that makes the nausea worse. Eat anything you can.
