Is being hugely pregnant with a toddler more difficult than having a toddler and a newborn??

I am SO hoping that the answer is yes!

In answer to the Op, very definitely. So the end is in sight, good luck.

Had horrendous pgs, much easier to have baby out even when you have a toddler to look after.

Tortington · 26/06/2008 16:48

NOPE and those that say yes are lying to make you feel better

ok I like this thread
what about pg plus having a 5 year old, and having a newborn and a 5 year old? because I am similarly thinking it is HARD now

btw the title made me laugh
I really feel like I am hugely pregnant with a toddler
that's what I look like also

Yes, both times I had toddler and new baby it was easier out than in. cos I always had more energy with a newborn than when pregnant. And I could bend over. And move about. and get up off the sofa.

If you have a 5 year old and a newborn, god yes. The older kid's away at school all teh time or out and about foraging. That's a walk in the park.

Depends on each pregnancy i would think. I have had horrible pregnancies and now at almost 35 weeks with DC3 I have to sit up to sleep and get comfortable and am often pacing the floors in the wee hours. Still being sick as well so obviously it is great when baby arrives and I don't feel so heavy or ill.
Frustrating at times not to be able to do all the things that i'd like to with DS1 and 2
I don't think i've been much help Waffle...waffle....

Sorry, DS's are 2.5 and 1.5 - nappy changes can be hard!!!!

MadamePlatypus · 26/06/2008 17:10

It does depend on the toddler and the newborn, but in my experience yes.

F&Z, I think your big problem will be the combination of sleepless nights and trying to string a sentence together when your 5 year asks you one of those questions - you know, the kind that we all know should be a spring board for a lovely trip to the library (could dinosaurs swim?) but are not so easy to deal with when you can't remember what a dinosaur is.
