Cmv risk

Hi,

Looking for some advice. I'm currently around 6+5 weeks pregnant with baby 3 and having a little internal panic!

My toddler left half of her chicken nugget tonight and I ate it without even thinking about it. As soon as I finished it I then remembered about cmv as it worried me in my second pregnancy and I am now worrying in case I have caused potential problems. I've probably ate many leftover bits over the last few weeks since finding out I am pregnant. My dd aged 2 also loves to give me kisses on the lips and it hasn't crossed my mind as being a risk until now so obviously now I'm panicking a bit.

I do have anxiety which also gets worse during pregnancy but just looking for some advice on the risks and if I am worrying unnecessarily. I don't have my booking appointment until I turn 12 weeks this time so still a while until I see a midwife!

Thank you

I'm pregnant with my 4th child and consider myself quite knowledgeable, but have no idea what cmv is or why eating a chicken nugget or kissing your child would be an issue in pregnancy?

CMV is a virus that is transmitted by small kids (mainly) and can cause a variety of problems in unborn babies. My sister had it in her preganncy, the child is now older and still developing normally.
There's a test you can do if you want peace of mind.

Thanks @notimeforregrets. I'll maybe phone the midwives on Monday just for some reassurance and to see what they say. Going forward I'll not share food and kisses on cheek and head only from now on just to be extra cautious.
