Hello, I'm 28 weeks and for the last few days ive been having reduced movements i went to get monitored today at hospital and they said babys trace was fine however he did have a dip at 120bpm for like a minute but said that they was happy and baby could of been playing with the cord, however I'm home now and still not happy with babys movements, what would you all do has anyone else had this it's really playing on my mind😪

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Oh how stressful, but 100% go back. And keep going back every time you’re not happy. More than 3 visits and it flags up. It’s always better to be annoying than the alternative. Hope you have someone you can talk to irl xx

Go back as many times as you feel you need to.
Any time I went in they told me they'd rather check and everything be fine than not check and miss something.
Having said that, during COVID I was dismissed and discouraged from attending when I still had concerns (right at the start of lockdown). Lo and behold, baby had stopped growing and needed to be induced, the pkacenta had started to calcify.

Always trust your gut and go in, hopefully everything will be absolutely fine but always best to check

I was up the hospital constantly with my most recent baby. The few times I didn't go as I didn't want to be up the hospital for the millionth time but mentined I had been concerned for a few days midwives were not happy I waited. They always made it very clear even if I had a good trace if I still wasnt happy later in the day to always go back in because it is better to be safe!

If you feel something isn't right it is better to be checked and feel like you have wasted your time than to not check and something is actually wrong.

Good luck with the remainder of your pregnancy!

Go back if you feel something isn’t right. You should be offered an ultrasound scan if there are persistent concerns about reduced movements.

Go back to get checked, go as many times as needed and don’t feel bad about it!

It could be because baby changed position and movements feel different? Babies often flip head down around 28 weeks and I wasn’t feeling my both children as much since it happened. Before they were kicking my lower stomach and after they were kicking top back and I wasn’t feeling it as much. Both healthy pregnancies but boy was I stressed and going to hospital to get checked all the time

Absolutely go back.

I started going in for repeated reduced movements around then. Ended up on fortnightly growth scans, then twice weekly dopplers to check the cord as well. Growth had slowed but not stopped. They managed to keep baby in until 38 weeks, at which point they were deemed safer out than in. The placenta was calicifed and looking decidedly ropey when once delivered. Consultant said it would likely have packed up before 40 weeks.

Trace was fine throughout, so if we'd gone off that alone the dodgy placenta would likely have been missed and could have ended very sadly. But the repeated reduced movements triggered the monitoring that may well have saved my baby's life.
