C section at 36 weeks?

Looking for some advice/ opinions as getting worried about my next c section.

I am due beginning of October with my third child and it will be a c section as I have had 2 emergency sections previously.

My last labour I attempted a vbac and it ended in a cat 1 emergency section at full dilation due to suspected scar dehiscence and impacted head. I wasn’t aware of the suspected scar dehiscence and have just found out and it has worried me quite a lot. The hospital have lost my operation notes so they don’t know whether it was actually confirmed or not. I have a relatively small gap between last labour and getting pregnant this time round (12 months) which they have said also puts me at risk of premature labour along with the c section at full dilation.

My last labour was relatively quick from first contraction to fully dilated considering it was my first time really (6 hours). Because of the suspected scar dehiscence and the quick labour I am extremely worried about going into labour before my c section is booked in at 39 weeks and having a potential scar rupture or another impacted head.

Does anyone know if the hospital would agree to a c section at 36 weeks because of the above? My next consultant appointment isn’t for a while just wanted to get some opinions.

I think it's unlikely. 36 weeks is premature and they would only want to do a C-section then, if absolutely necessary.

If you do go into labour, before your planned section date, you would just go straight to the hospital and get bumped up the list.

I had a different scenario, but one where it would have been very dangerous had I gone into labour.

In my case they kept me in hospital with close monitoring from 35 weeks, ready to whip DD out at the very first sign of labour. I then had a planned section at 37 weeks, which is full term and I think the earliest they like to do it except in an emergency.

I think they’d agree to anything after 37 (that’s what my consultant advised me). You can always ask and see, but I’d be very surprised if they agreed to anything before then

Thanks for the responses. Did either of you ask for your c section earlier or was it advised by the consultant?

I asked what the earliest possible date (without any medical intervention being necessary) would be and she said anything after 37 was fine
