Hi I've just found out I'm expecting and I have tickets to Wimbledon in July. I would be 8 weeks by then. I would really like to go still but I don't know what symptoms I will have at the time. Does anyone have any recs for what to take with me or any tips on curbing nausea if I have it? Any advice appreciated!

You should be fine unless you are extremely sick. If you have court ticket, you will have an allocated seat. If you have a ground pass you can sit on henman hill/murray mount. For nausea bring salted crackers and water. You might struggle if it’s really hot, but just take frequent breaks in the air conditioned shop! Congratulations!

Congratulations!

I'm sure you'll be totally fine. The only circumstances you would need to miss out on something in your first trimester is if you have really crippling sickness like hyperemesis which isn't that common.

I and everyone I know would have been fine at 8 weeks.

You should be fine. Your body will tell you what it needs - for me I felt sick almost all the time and it was salty carbs, but others craved sweets or fruit or ice. Or you might be absolutely fine!

Take a hat and a fan.

Firstly, congratulations! Re symptoms, it’s really impossible to tell, as each person – and each pregnancy – is very different. It will still be early days so you may have few symptoms, though others find theirs hit very quickly.

the main thing I’d recommend is having a good hydration plan, in case the weather is hot. Bring lots of water (if you’re allowed to bring it in) or have enough money to buy lots when you’re there. Nausea aside, tiredness and dizziness can be common in the first trimester, so even if you don’t feel like eating much, you can focus on hydration.

I went to Wimbledon at about 12 weeks pregnant. It can sometimes be a bit of a trek to the loo so if you find you are suffering from morning sickness, I would recommend popping a carrier bag in your pocket in case you get caught short!

No way to know really. I was signed off work and barely out of bed except to go to the bathroom at 8 weeks. My friend didn’t have any symptoms at all.

Generally I’d say hydration, dry snacks (crackers etc), a fan to keep cool will all help mild nausea if you have it.

Take the opportunity, it'll be a lovely memory. I found that peak sickness was 8-10 weeks (sorry) but not everyone does suffer with nausea. You might be ok. Take little salty snacks in your bag, maybe a few pretzels, choc gingers, sweets and chewing minty gum also helped. Get a nap in before you travel.

Congratulations! Everyone is different, so it will be impossible to say how you are going to feel. I felt horrific with mine, I had hyperemesis I definitely wouldn't have been able to go. Lots of my friends felt absolutely fine, maybe a little more tired than usual!
I would keep a sugary/fizzy drink with you, a snack and water. Enjoy x

Absolutely don’t go.. you need to post the tickets to me this very afternoon 😬
Congratulations x
