Sore bump at 36 weeks - normal?

I've been experiencing this for the last couple of weeks and I don't remember it with my first pregnancy. It's usually the underside of my bump, but it's been further up today. It just feels like my stomach muscles are really sore and tender.

Bigger baby this time and I'm also lifting and chasing my toddler around all day so that's possibly contributing.

Did anyone else have this?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yes! I'm 38w tomorrow and for the last 2 or 3 weeks I've been saying that this kid is literally trying to burst through my skin. Baby is bigger, chasing and carrying toddler, my bump is much bigger than last time but otherwise I'm fit and healthy. But there have been times where I have literally been winded or stopped in my tracks because the pain from the bump whatever way the baby has been sitting and pushing on me has been so severe!

Never experienced it in my first pregnancy either.

Could it be Braxton Hicks? In all honesty, anything that’s different is well worth a phone call to the midwife or the hospital so that would honestly be my first port of call - enjoy your new baby when they arrive

Ah, that's good to know it's not just me! My first baby was teeny tiny and this one is already half a pound bigger than my first when she was born 😅

Sounds like we both need some rest! So hard with a toddler though.

I don't think so. I get braxton hicks too, but these are more of a constant low level pain. Usually at the end of the day when I've been up and doing things all day.

Will bring it up with my doctor though. Thank you!

Sometimes it's a piercing pain and I need to lie down on my side and basically try to shuffle the baby back into a different position 😂

I have genuinely joked with my husband that I will have more rest post labour in the hospital than I get at home 😂

It could be ligament pains.
