I have been very embarrassed as I have found an anal skin tag upon wiping after childbirth. I have visited a colorectal surgeon but it sounds a bit too invasive but I have heard they can be removed under local??

I may not be much help but I have a very large anal skin tag - I was booked in for surgery in Jan but I found out I was pregnant a few days before. I was told that it had to be done under general only and the recovery is quite hard..

I am worried that it's going to get a lot worse after child birth :(

Hi, I had an anal skin tag removed under LA in a clinic in Harley street called Cosmedics. I was a little sore for a few days but it really has healed well. Most of their surgeons perform this procedure

Many anal skin tags can be removed in an office setting under local anesthetic, depending on their size and location. If the surgeon's proposed procedure sounds more invasive than you're comfortable with, it may be worth getting a second opinion from another colorectal surgeon to discuss less invasive options.
