Could overheating overnight at five weeks pregnant harm the baby?

Hi all

I am 5 weeks pregnant and I’m a bit panicked. Woke up this morning really hot and sweating probably due to the warm weather we are having (yesterday was 29•c). I didn’t really think last night, I put on a thickish top and long bottoms didn’t get a fan or open windows. And my son sneaks in my bed in middle of night who is like a hot water bottle.
Im a bit panicky as I looked up that getting overheated can cause higher risk of causing defects to the baby.
would this happen? I’m very anxious as last pregnancy was not a great one so I’m extra aware.

It’s fine, what do you think happens to people in hot countries?

Maybe research some strategies to keep health anxiety under control during pregnancy - as it will be a long 9 months otherwise.

It means overheating as in heat stroke and things like that. Not just being hot at night, which we all were last night!

I think it's probably pretty common in the first trimester. I definitely woke up all hot and sweaty at least once but it's just because I run hotter during pregnancy so have to dress a bit lighter. I think it's more of a problem if you're too hot for a long time. I seem to overheat pretty easy so if I get out of bed too fast or have morning sickness I just feel overheated but I just throw off the duvet, open a window, shed a layer etc to cool back down quickly.

I honestly wouldn't worry about it as you can't undo it, just get yourself some lighter pjs, thin duvet and a fan so it's not as likely to happen again :) the weather is only going to get hotter.
