Hi there i have a abortion booked for wednesday has anyone had one and was it super painfull, ive had 4 children so been through labour, this was not a planned pregnancy and as much as it upsets me to have a abortion i had terrible post natal depression with my previous pregnancys and i suffer from ocd anxiety and panic attacks so i dont want to put my self through all that again, id rather be here mentally for my other 4 children than go through all that again

how many weeks pregnant are you? I had a surgical abortion fairly early, maybe 9 weeks, didn’t hurt at all as I was sedated. I think medical abortions hurt a bit more as they are like a miscarriage, so you get cramping etc.

You don’t need to justify your decision to us or anyone, if you don’t want to be pregnant that’s good enough reason Flowers

I’ve been through labour 4 times and had an abortion last year. In my experience it wasn’t painful at all and I only had very mild cramping. I was expecting more pain and for some people it probably is more painful but I would think after going through labour several times you will be ok with a hot water bottle and some painkillers.

not Sure on the route you’ve chosen, I’ve had medical at home and I only struggled with the shakes when my temp took a little spike. I’ve had worse periods physically

Sorry i forgot to mention its going to be with the medication ive only missed one period so id say im about 5 weeks, didnt expect to ever need one either, i feel so emotional about it but i dont want another baby, is it normal to feel guilty and sad but know its the right thing for me 100%, a friend of mine had one and scared the life into me telling me its worse than labour you bleed everywhere and you poop yourself constantly, ive got 4 kids i dont want them seeing me like that

I had one at just 7 weeks. Took paracetamol and ibuprofen and only felt mild cramps. I had one moment where I had to rush to the toilet for a bowel movement but that was it. I made sure not to look closely at anything. Bled like a period for about a week afterwards. Emotionally I found it very difficult for a long time though - however everyone is different. Let yourself feel whatever you feel.

I'd definitely get someone else to watch the kids though, if possible. Or at the least time it so they'll be in bed.
